Abstract
Music video with lyric is an interested entertainment for people, where contained messages to be conveyed from the song. Through a music video with lyric, a singer, Kunjo Aji expressed his artwork entitled "Ekspektasi" using a theme about the pantomime show. The focus in research is kinesic communication such as; facial expressions, gestures, and body languages / movements. The purpose of research is to find out how to convey messages to the audience from the pantomimer movement on the music video with lyric "Ekspektasi", so that the writer can find the meaning out of the kinesics communication that's shown. Type of research used is descriptive with a qualitative approach. The method used is semiotics analysis. Semiotics is study of signs, their uses, and the production of meanings by using the theory of Charles Sanders Peirce, called Triangel of Meaning, that are sign, object, and interpretant. The writer collected primary datas by observing the contents of video and taking some scenes that are nonverbal communications. From this research can be concluded that being a pantomimer is not easy, is required character deepening. A good performance can convey the message appropriately so that can be understood by the audience, it can be seen based on several components, such as; facial expressions, gestures, body languages / movements and other nonverbal communication parables. Video klip ataupun video lirik merupakan sarana hiburan yang sangat menarik bagi khalayak, yang di mana sebuah pesan atau makna yang terkandung dalam lagu dapat disampaikan melalui karya musik video. Melalui media musik video lirik, musisi Kunjo Aji mengekspresikan hasil karya musiknya yang berjudul “Ekspektasi”, dengan mengusung tema tentang pertunjukan Pantomim. Fokus dalam penelitian mencangkup komunikasi kinesics meliputi facial signs, gesture dan body posture. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui bagaimana bentuk pesan dari gerakan yang pantomim ditampilkan dalam video lirik ‘Ekspektasi’ sehingga penulis dapat mengetahui makna kinesics yang ditampilkan. Dalam penelitian ini tipe penelitian yang digunakan adalah deskriptif dengan pendekatan kualitatif. Metode yang digunakan adalah analisis semiotika. Semiotika adalah ilmu tentang mempelajari tanda, berfungsinya makna dan produksi makna dengan menggunakan teori dari Charles Sanders Peirce yang disebut Triangel of Meaning atau teori Segitiga Makna yang meliputi sign, object, dan interpretant. Di mana peneliti mengumpulkan data secara primer yaitu mengamati isi adegan video dan mengambil beberapa adegan yang merupakan komunikasi nonverbal. Dari hasil penelitian ini dapat disimpulkan, bahwa menjadi pantomimer memang tidaklah mudah, membutuhkan penghayatan yang berkaitan dengan peran yang dimainkannya. Pengekspresian yang baik dapat menyampaikan makna dan pesan agar dapat dipahami dan dimengerti oleh penonton atau penikmat musik video, yang dapat diperlihatkan melalui beberapa komponen seperti kinesics facial signs, body posture, gesture dan perumpamaan cara berkomunikasi nonverbal lainnya.
