Abstract

There is one tire manufacturing company that has problems related to productivity. One problematic process line is the tread material section. Based on data obtained by researchers from the company, the tread production process is experiencing obstacles so that the production achievement has not reached 100% with the achievement standard is 360,000 meters / month. The average production achievement of a tread extruder machine is 323,955 meters. Machine productivity is calculated by the value of the output divided by the input 10% greater than the achievement. The productivity value obtained is 323,955 meters / 356,350.5 meters = 0.90 or 90%. To overcome these problems, research is carried out using the DMAIC method to find out the causes and recommendations for solutions so that problems can be minimized or eliminated. After doing all the DMAIC stages, the root cause of the problem of production achievement on the tread extruder machine is the Defect NG dimension of the tread that occurs on the tread extruder machine due to the operator setting the machine on each size change, the tread extruder machine head condition is slow in reaching heat, so the operator has difficulty setting the machine to get dimensions according to specifications. So do improve the addition of tools in the form of a heater that aims to reduce the defect dimensions of the NG tread due to the machine setting process that is too long. So that this tool can be added to reduce the defect dimensions of NG tread due to the setting process that is too long. The average achievement of production in a row before and after improve is 323,940 meters and 340,245 meters or an increase of 16,305 meters = 5%. So that productivity after improving reaches 340,245 meters / 356,350.5 meters = 0.95 or 95%. Keywords: DMAIC, Six Sigma, Defect, Productivity, Tires, Improve Terdapat salah satu perusahaan manufaktur pembuat ban yang memiliki permasalahan berkaitan dengan produktivitas. Salah satu lini proses yang bermasalah yaitu pada bagian material tread. Berdasarkan data yang diperoleh peneliti dari perusahaan, proses produksi tread mengalami kendala sehingga pencapaian produksinya belum mencapai 100% dengan standar pencapaian adalah 360.000 meter/bulan. Rata-rata pencapaian produksi mesin tread extruder sebesar 323.955 meter. Produktivitas mesin dihitung dengan nilai output dibagi dengan input 10% lebih besar dari pencapaian. Nilai produktivitas yang didapatkan adalah 323.955 meter /356.350,5 meter = 0,90 atau 90%. Untuk mengatasi permasalahan tersebut maka dilakukan penelitian dengan menggunakan metode DMAIC untuk mengetahui penyebab dan rekomendasi solusi agar permasalahan dapat diminimalisir atau dihilangkan. Setelah melakukan semua tahapan DMAIC didapatkan akar penyebab permasalahan pencapaian produksi pada mesin tread extruder yaitu Defect dimensi tread NG yang terjadi pada mesin tread extruder disebabkan pada saat operator melakukan proses setting mesin pada setiap ganti size, kondisi head mesin tread extruder lambat dalam mencapai panas, sehingga operator kesulitan melakukan setting mesin untuk mendapatkan dimensi yang sesuai dengan spesifikasi. Sehingga dilakukan improve penambahan alat berupa heater yang bertujuan untuk mengurangi defect dimensi tread NG akibat proses setting mesin yang terlalu lama. Sehingga dengan ditambahkan alat ini dapat mengurangi defect dimensi tread NG akibat proses setting yang terlalu lama. Rata-rata pencapaian produksi berturut-turut sebelum dan sesudah improve adalah 323.940 meter dan 340.245 meter atau mengalami peningkatan sebesar 16.305 meter = 5%. Sehingga produktivitas setelah improve mencapai 340.245 meter /356.350,5 meter = 0,95 atau 95%. Kata kunci : DMAIC, Six Sigma, Defect, Produktivitas, Ban, Improve
