Abstract
Globalization of Korean pop culture or better known as Korean Wave (Hallyu) has succeeded in influencing the lives of the world community, including Indonesia. The video clip ‘Blood, Sweat, and Tears’ belongs to one of the largest boy groups in the world, BTS is present storylines, properties and sets that related to Greek mythology. This research was conducted to find symbols in the video clip ‘Blood, Sweat, and Tears’ by BTS which described the development of a teenager personality which was analyzed using Roland Barthes's semiotic analysis with the meaning of denotation, connotation, and myth. This type of research is descriptive with a qualitative. The paradigm used in this research is critics that pay attention to the dismantling of the hidden aspects in the video clip 'Blood, Sweat, and Tears'. The results of this research are video clips Blood, Sweat and Tears have messages related to the development of adolescent personality in various symbols such as sculptures, paintings, other properties, colors and sets. Early adolescent personality development is shown by the childish nature that is still inherent in themselves, then faced with problems and temptations, to the results of the formation of his personality. In the video clip shows that to form a strong identity and personality, knowledge about good and bad also plays a role in personality formation. Keyword: Korean Pop Culture, Video Clip, Development of Adolescent Personality Globalisasi budaya pop Korea atau yang lebih dikenal dengan Korean Wave (Hallyu) berhasil mempengaruhi kehidupan masyarakat dunia termasuk Indonesia. Video klip ‘Blood, Sweat, and Tears’ milik salah satu boygroup terbesar di dunia, BTS menampilkan jalan cerita, properti dan set yang berhubungan dengan mitologi Yunani. Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk menemukan simbol-simbol dalam video klip ‘Blood, Sweat, and Tears’ oleh BTS yang menggambarkan perkembangan kepribadian remaja yang kemudian di analisa menggunakan analisis semiotika Roland Barthes dengan sistem pemaknaan denotasi, konotasi, dan mitos. Tipe penelitian ini adalah deskriptif dengan pendekatan kualitatif. Paradigma yang diggunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah kritis yang menaruh perhatian terhadap pembongkaran aspek-aspek yang tersembunyi di dalam video klip‘Blood, Sweat, and Tears’. Hasil penelitian ini adalah video klip Blood, Sweat and Tears memiliki pesan terkait perkembangan kepribadian remaja yang disampaikan melalui simbol-simbol seperti patung, lukisan, properti lainnya, warna dan set. Perkembangan kepribadian remaja awal ditunjukan dengan sifat kekanak-kanakan yang masih melekat dalam diri, lalu dihadapi dengan masalah dan godaan, sampai hasil dari pembentukan kepribadiannya. Dalam video klip menunjukan bahwa untuk membentuk jati diri dan kepribadian yang kuat, pengetahuan mengenai kebaikan dan keburukan juga berperan dalam pembentukan kepribadian.
