Abstract
Masculinity is an important thing in a man, nowadays it begins to look at the symptoms of a shift on the meaning of masculinity itself. Soft-masculinity is a blend of masculine and feminine character, this blend gives rise to men who have beautiful face character and have gentle nature. This research is qualitative descriptive. The research method used by researchers in this study was the Semiotic analysis method of Charles Sanders Peirce. This theory is a science or analysis method that examine the signs. This theory uses the terms icons, indexes, and symbols. The result of this research is to know the soft-masculinity representation in the music video boy with Luv using soft-masculinity characteristics, then the result of the three characteristics of the researcher found the signs that there In a softmasculinity male, namely a beautiful man, charming, gentle, affectionate, the mood of their calm, good, wise, innocence (innocent), courtesy to the opposite and polite in dress. Maskulinitas merupakan suatu hal yang penting dalam diri seorang laki-laki, saat ini mulai terlihat gejala-gejala adanya pergeseran mengenai makna maskulinitas itu sendiri. Soft-masculinity adalah perpaduan karakter maskulin dan feminim, perpaduan ini menimbulkan laki-laki yang memiliki karakter wajah cantik dan memiliki sifat lembut. Penelitian ini bersifat deskriptif kualitatif. Metode penelitian yang digunakan peneliti dalam penelitian ini adalah metode analisis semiotika Charles Sanders Peirce. Teori ini merupakan suatu ilmu atau metode analisis yang menkaji mengenai tanda. Teori ini menggunakan istilah ikon, indeks, dan simbol. Hasil penelitian ini yaitu untuk mengetahui representasi soft-masculinity dalam video musik boy with luv dengan menggunakan karakteristik softmasculinity, kemudian hasilnya dari ketiga karakteristik tersebut peneliti menemukan tanda-tanda yang terdapat pada laki-laki soft-masculinity, yakni lakilaki yang cantik, menawan, lemah lembut, kasih sayang, suasana hati mereka yang tenang, baik, bijaksana, kepolosan (innocent), sopan santun terhadap lawan jenis dan sopan dalam berpakaian.
