Abstract

Nowadays more and more MLBB game players are popping up to the surface through YouTube media. They try to convey something about themselves, construct the desired and expected meaning that they might not be able to do in the real world, so they start from sharing social media. This event appears like a phenomenon when gamers busy declaring themselves as MLBB gaming YouTubers. This study aims to analyze the motives and constructs of the identity of MLBB players to become an MLBB YouTubers on YouTube media. This study uses the Alfred Schutz phenemenology methodology with a constructivist paradigm. And the use of identity theory by Douglas Costa. The data was collected by interviewing 7 informants, and observing the YouTube channel of the informants. The results of research and data analysis show that there are a number of motives because MLBB players' activities become gaming youtubers who are driven by two things: hobbies or fun and have free time. Whereas the motives found were related to 3 things. First, it relates to the desire of MLBB players to share their knowledge and playing abilities. Second, about MLBB players who want to be watched by many people. Third, related to the wishes of MLBB players who want to be recognized as great or professional in playing. Based on these motives, this research categorizes 3 MLBB youtubers typifications in shaping their identity on YouTube, namely Leisure Youtubers, Sharing Youtubers, and Achieved Youtubers. This research contributes in the form of constructing the identity and motivation of MLBB players who decide to become MLBB gaming youtubers as well. Keywords: youtubers, phenomenology, mobile legend, identity construction Saat ini semakin bermunculan pemain permainan MLBB yang naik ke permukaan melalui media YouTube. Mereka mencoba menyampaikan sesuatu tentang diri mereka, mengkonstruksi makna yang diinginkan dan diekspetasikan yang mungkin tidak dapat mereka lakukan di dunia nyata, maka mereka memulainya dari media sosial berbagi. Peristiwa ini muncul seperti sebuah fenomena ketika gamer ramai-ramai mendeklarasikan diri sebagai youtubers gaming MLBB. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis motif dan konstruksi identitas pemain MLBB menjadi seorang youtubers MLBB di media YouTube. Penelitian ini menggunakan metodologi fenemenologi Alfred Schutz dengan paradigma konstruktivis. Serta digunakan teori identitas oleh Douglas Costa. Untuk mengumpulkan data dilakukan dengan wawancara terhadap 7 informan, dan observasi terhadap kanal YouTube para informan. Hasil penelitian dan analisis data menunjukkan terdapat beberapa Motif Karena dalam kegiatan pemain MLBB menjadi youtubers gaming digerakan oleh 2 hal yaitu hobi atau kesenangan dan memiliki waktu luang. Sedangkan Motif Untuk yang ditemukan terkait dengan 3 hal. Pertama, berkaitan dengan keinginan pemain MLBB untuk berbagi pengetahuan dan kemampuan bermainnya. Kedua, tentang pemain MLBB yang ingin ditonton oleh banyak orang. Ketiga, berhubungan dengan keinginan pemain MLBB yang ingin diakui hebat atau profesional dalam bermain. Berdasarkan motif tersebut, penelitian ini mengkategorikan 3 tipikasi youtubers MLBB dalam membentuk identitasnya di YouTube yaitu Leisure youtubers, Sharing youtubers, dan Achieved youtubers. Penelitian ini memberikan kontribusi berupa cara konstruksi identitas dan motivasi para pemain MLBB yang memutuskan untuk menjadi youtubers gaming MLBB juga.
