Abstract

PT. ABC is an aircraft maintenance company that has problems with the high value of inventory, which is 9% of total purchases from 2016 to 2018 is not moving. Looking for factors that cause high inventory values and proposed methods that can increase the value of forecasting precision, service level, and cost efficiency are the goals of this research. The research sample is 9 spare parts included in classification A in the ABC analysis and maintenance list 2018. Fishbone diagrams are used to finding factors that cause the high value of inventory. Forecasting using Moving Average, Single Exponential Smoothing, and Syntetos-Boylan Approximation and error calculation with Mean Square Error is used to increase the value of forecasting precision. Deterministic inventory calculations and Continuous Review Method are used to increase the value of service level and logistics cost efficiency. The results of this study are an increase in logistics costs by $ 808.71 or 0.5% in the inventory management proposal when compared with the inventory management methods used by the company. An increase in service level from 95% to an average of 99% and the error value in the calculation of the proposal becomes smaller using the proposed method. This study also found that the factor causing the high inventory value was due to inaccurate planning methods so that other comparative methods were needed that could increase the precision of demand forecasting. ABC adalah perusahaan perawatan pesawat yang memiliki permasalahan dengan tingginya nilai persediaan yang tidak bergerak, yaitu 9% dari total pembelian di 2016 sampai 2018. Mencari faktor penyebab tingginya nilai persediaan dan metode usulan yang dapat meningkatkan nilai presisi peramalan, service level dan efisiensi biaya menjadi tujuan penelitian ini. Sampel penelitian adalah 9 suku cadang yang masuk dalam klasifikasi A pada analisis ABC dan maintenance list 2018. Diagram Fishbone digunakan dalam mencari faktor penyebab tingginya nilai persediaan. Peramalan menggunakan Moving Average, Single Exponential Smoothing dan Syntetos-Boylan Approximation serta perhitungan error dengan Mean Square Error digunakan untuk meningkatkan nilai presisi peramalan. Perhitungan persediaan deterministik dan Continuous Review Method digunakan untuk meningkatkan nilai service level dan efisiensi biaya logistik. Hasil penelitian ini adalah terjadi kenaikan biaya logistik sebesar $808.71 atau 0.5% pada pengelolaan persediaan usulan jika dibandingkan dengan metode pengelolaan persediaan yang digunakan perusahaan. Terjadi kenaikan service level dari angka 95% menjadi rata-rata 99% dan nilai error pada perhitungan usulan menjadi lebih kecil dengan menggunakan metode usulan. Penelitian ini juga menemukan bahwa faktor penyebab tingginya nilai persediaan dikarenakan metode planning yang tidak presisi sehingga diperlukan adanya metode pembanding lain yang dapat meningkatkan kepresisian peramalan permintaan.
