Abstract
Through film, people can see clearly what is happening in the midst of a particular community at a certain time. Previously there have been many films that raised about survival, one of which was THE 33. The film tells of a struggle of the lives of 33 miners trapped under a 200-meter deep underground, with their determined enthusiasm and courage to get out of the mine. The purpose of this study is to find out the survival signs or symbols in the film. Survival can be interpreted as an effort to maintain life and get out of a difficult or critical situation. In a narrow sense, survival is used in emergencies. Many people do not know how to survive with emergency conditions and how to overcome them. Survival What is meant here is the ability to be able to survive from unfavorable conditions until communication with outside parties is established. The nature of this research is qualitative descriptive. The paradigm used in this study is the constructivist paradigm by using Charles Sanders Pierce's semiotic analysis method which emphasizes a set of signs. The results of the research conducted by the author concluded that in THE 33 film that teaches humans to work together in good, high spirits, has a smart and intelligent outlook and mindset, and helps each other help and respect each other. Like what was done to 33 miners as long as they tried to survive with hunger and thirst. Because it was his enthusiasm that kept them alive and could continue their lives back with their beloved family. Melalui film, masyarakat dapat melihat secara nyata apa yang terjadi di tengahtengah masyarakat tertentu pada masa tertentu. Sebelumnya sudah banyak filmfilm yang mengangkat tentang survival, salah satunya adalah THE 33. Film ini menceritakan sebuah perjuangan hidup 33 penambang yang terjebak di bawah tanah sedalam 200 meter, dengan semangat yang gigih dan keberanian mereka demi keluar dari dalam tambang. Tujuan penelitian ini dimaksud untuk mengetahui tanda atau simbol survival dalam film tersebut. Survival dapat diartikan sebagai upaya untuk mempertahankan hidup dan keluar dari keadaan yang sulit atau kritis. Dalam arti yang sempit, survival digunakan dalam keadaan-keadaan darurat. Banyak masyarakat yang kurang mengetahui bagaimana cara bertahan hidup dengan kondisi yang darurat dan bagaimana cara mengatasinya. Survival Yang dimaksud disini adalah kemampuan untuk dapat bertahan hidup dari keadaan yang kurang menguntungkan sampai terjalin komunikasi dengan pihakluar. Sifat penelitian ini adalah deskriptif kualitatif. Paradigma yang digunakan pada penelitian ini yaitu paradigma konstruktivis dengan menggunakan metode analisis semiotika Charles sanders Pierce yang menekankan pada seperangkat tanda. Hasil penelitian yang dilakukan penulis memperoleh kesimpulan bahwa dalam film THE 33 yaitu mengajarkan manusia untuk berkerja sama yang baik, semangat yang tinggi, memiliki pandangan dan pola pikir yang pintar, cerdas dan sigap, serta saling tolong menolong dan menghormati antar sesama. Seperti yang dilakukan ke 33 penambang selama mereka berusaha bertahan hidup dengan kelaparan dan kehausan. Karna semangatnya lah yang membuat mereka tetap bertahan dan bisa melanjutkan kehidupannya kembali bersama keluarga tercinta.
