Abstract

Pay TV became one of the choices because of its advantages that have a variety of varied channels. Pay TV has channels that narrowed in one type of program, such as Music Channel on MNC Vision that focuses on the type of music program. Music program with live show format is certainly very concerned about audio quality. Audioman has responsibility for the audio quality of the music program. This study is created to find out how the creativity of audioman in processing and controlling audio in music program Start Track. This study uses qualitative approach with descriptive research type. The method used is case study by doing observation and in-depth interview to informants. The results of this study discusses the creativity of the audioman in the Start Track can be viewed based on three conditions of the creative person. With this study the researcher can get an idea about audioman’s creativity in Start Track. This study concludes that the audioman’s creativity is crucial to the success of a music program. Audioman's creativity is required in processing and controlling good audio, as well as needed in dealing with and handling technical and non-technical problems that arise in music programs. Televisi berlangganan menjadi salah satu pilihan masyarakat karna kelebihannya yang memiliki beragam saluran yang variatif. Televisi berlangganan memiliki saluran yang terkhusus pada satu jenis program acara tertentu, seperti saluran Music Channel di MNC Vision yang fokus pada jenis program musik. Program musik dengan format live show tentu sangat memperhatikan kualitas audionya. Audioman memiliki tanggung jawab terhadap kualitas audio dari program musik. Penelitian yang dilakukan ini untuk mengetahui bagaimana kreativitas audioman dalam mengolah dan mengontrol audio pada program musik Start Track. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan tipe penelitian deskriptif. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah studi kasus dengan melakukan observasi dan wawancara mendalam kepada narasumber. Hasil penelitian ini membahas kreativitas audioman pada program Start Track dapat dilihat berdasarkan tiga kondisi dari pribadi yang kreatif. Dengan penelitian ini peneliti dapat memperoleh gambaran mengenai kreativitas audioman dalam program Start Track. Penilitan ini menyimpulkan bahwa kreativitas audioman sangat menentukan keberhasilan suatu program musik. Kreativitas audioman dibutuhkan dalam mengolah dan mengontrol audio yang baik, serta dibutuhkan dalam menghadapi dan menangani masalah secara teknik maupun non teknik yang timbul dalam program musik.
