Abstract
As the number of cat owners in Indonesia increases, the need for practical, functional, and aesthetic products is growing. Many pet owners face challenges carrying their cats and personal equipment because they have to use more than one bag. This study designed a multifunctional backpack that combines the functions of a pet cargo bag, an astronaut bag, and a tote bag in one product. This bag is designed with technical specifications including waterproof material, adequate air ventilation, an ergonomic shape, and easy folding for storage. From an aesthetic perspective, the bag design adapts to fashion trends with an elegant shape and a choice of neutral or cheerful colors, thus suiting the lifestyle of young urban users. The research approach uses the SWOT method and user needs analysis to formulate a design that meets functional, fashionable, and ethical and environmental aspects according to the principles of sustainability. The design results are expected to improve the comfort of owners and pets, support modern lifestyles, and contribute to innovation in pet product design in Indonesia. Seiring meningkatnya jumlah pemilik kucing di Indonesia, kebutuhan akan produk yang praktis, fungsional, dan estetis semakin berkembang. Banyak pemilik hewan peliharaan menghadapi kendala dalam membawa kucing sekaligus perlengkapan pribadi karena harus menggunakan lebih dari satu tas. Penelitian ini merancang tas runsel multifungsi yang menggabungkan fungsi pet cargo, tas astronot, dan tote bag dalam satu produk. Tas ini didesain dengan spesifikasi teknis berupa material tahan air, ventilasi udara yang memadai, bentuk ergonomis, serta kemudahan lipat untuk penyimpanan. Dari sisi estetika, desain tas menyesuaikan tren mode dengan bentuk elegan dan pilihan warna netral maupun ceria, sehingga sesuai dengan gaya hidup pengguna muda di perkotaan. Pendekatan penelitian menggunakan metode SWOT dan analisis kebutuhan pengguna untuk merumuskan desain yang memenuhi aspek fungsional, mode, serta etika dan lingkungan sesuai prinsip keberlanjutan Hasil perancangan diharapkan dapat meningkatkan kenyamanan pemilik dan hewan peliharaan, mendukung gaya hidup modern, serta memberikan kontribusi pada inovasi desain produk hewan peliharaan di Indonesia.
