Abstract
DKI Jakarta is a bustling city and a residential hub for many people, including those in North Jakarta. One of the rapidly developing areas is Sunter, which has become a prime destination for workers seeking a place to live. However, Sunter is predominantly a high-end area, limiting housing options for the middle to lower-income population. To accommodate both migrant workers from other cities and native Jakarta residents, a strategic and comfortable living environment is essential—one that provides daily necessities within easy reach. Biophilic design is an architectural and urban design approach that integrates natural elements into the built environment (Lee & Park, 2021). Its purpose is to reduce stress, enhance mental health, and promote a sense of wellbeing. Furthermore, improving environmental quality through elements such as vertical gardens, natural ventilation, and environmentally friendly materials contributes to better air quality and thermal comfort within buildings (Shakhshir & Sheta, 2024). Therefore, apartment buildings adopting a biophilic approach are considered an appropriate solution for vertical developments targeting working professionals in Jakarta. Keywords: Biophilic Design, Vertical Housing, Co-living, Urban Workers DKI Jakarta merupakan kota yang sibuk dan menjadi tempat tinggal bagi banyak masyarakat. Salah satu kawasan yang berkembang pesat adalah Sunter, yang menjadi tujuan banyak pekerja untuk menetap. Namun, Sunter cenderung dikenal sebagai kawasan yang diperuntukkan bagi kalangan atas, sehingga terdapat keterbatasan pilihan tempat tinggal yang sesuai untuk masyarakat menengah ke bawah. Untuk memenuhi kebutuhan para pekerja pendatang dari kota lain maupun penduduk asli Jakarta, diperlukan sebuah hunian vertical yang murah, sehat dan nyaman untuk kesejahteraan emosional. Desain biophilic adalah pendekatan arsitektur dan perancangan kota yang mengintegrasikan elemen-elemen alam ke dalam lingkungan binaan. (Lee & Park, 2021). Dengan tujuan mengurangi stres, meningkatkan kesehatan mental, dan memberikan rasa bahagia. Adapun untuk meningkatkan kualitas lingkungan dengan elemen-elemen seperti taman vertikal, ventilasi alami, dan material ramah lingkungan memperbaiki kualitas udara dan kenyamanan termal dalam bangunan (Shakhshir & Sheta, 2024). Oleh karena itu, bangunan co-living dengan pendekatan biophilic menjadi solusi yang tepat bagi sebuah bangunan vertical dengan pasar para pekerja di Jakarta. Kata Kunci: Hunian Vertical, Co-living, Desain Biophilic, Kesejahteraan Emosional, Pekerja Kantoran.
