Abstract
In addition to providing amusement, movies are an essential mass communication tool for creating and perpetuating societal ideals. Studying the movie 1 Big Brother 7 Nephews (2025) by Yandy Laurens is intriguing because it portrays family relations via the character of an older brother who steps in as a parent, highlighting the need of unity. This research attempts to ascertain how the film's scenes, narrative, and visual components convey the importance of unity. This research makes use of Stuart Hall's theory of representation, which holds that meaning is socially constructed via a media system of signs, symbols, and language. The study employed a descriptive qualitative approach with a critical paradigm. The units of analysis were scenes, dialogue, character expressions, and cinematic elements such as mise-en-scène and cinematography. Data collection techniques included film observation, scene documentation, and relevant literature review. The results of the study indicate that the value of togetherness is represented through acts of sacrifice, responsibility in family interactions, intimate spatial compositions, and narrative conflict that emphasizes the importance of collective support in the face of adversity. In conclusion, this film does not simply present a family drama, but rather constructs togetherness as an ideological value. Selain memberikan hiburan, film merupakan alat komunikasi massa yang esensial dalam menciptakan dan mempertahankan nilai-nilai sosial. Studi tentang film 1 Kakak 7 Keponakan (2025) karya Yandy Laurens menarik karena menggambarkan hubungan keluarga melalui karakter seorang kakak laki-laki yang mengambil peran sebagai orang tua, menyoroti pentingnya persatuan. Penelitian ini berusaha untuk mengidentifikasi bagaimana adegan, narasi, dan elemen visual film tersebut menyampaikan pentingnya persatuan. Penelitian ini menerapkan teori representasi Stuart Hall, yang menyatakan bahwa makna dibangun secara sosial melalui sistem media yang terdiri dari tanda, simbol, dan bahasa. Penelitian menerapkan pendekatan kualitatif deskriptif dengan paradigma kritis. Unit analisis berupa scene, dialog, ekspresi tokoh, serta elemen sinematik seperti mise en scene dan sinematografi. Teknik pengumpulan data dilaksanakan melalui observasi terhadap film, dokumentasi adegan, dan studi Pustaka yang relevan. Hasil studi membuktikan bahwa nilai kebersamaan direpresentasikan melalui Tindakan pengorbanan, tanggung jawab dalam interaksi keluarga, komposisis ruang yang intim, serta konflik naratif yang menekankan pentingnya dukungan kolektif dalam menghadapi kesulitan. Kesimpulan, film ini tidak sekadar menyajikan drama keluarga, melainkan mengonstruksi kebersamaaan sebagai nilai ideologis Kata Kunci: Representasi, Kebersamaan, Film Keluarga, Stuart Hall, Komunikasi Massa.
