Abstract

This study aims to examine the influence of Instagram social media content from @emak_moba on the fulfilment of information needs of the UMB E-Sport community. This research is based on the Uses and Gratifications theory, which views audiences as active participants in selecting media according to their needs. A quantitative approach was employed using a survey method. The population of this study consisted of 475 members of the UMB E-Sport community as of 1 May, 2025. The sample was determined using the Slovin formula with a 10% margin of error, resulting in 83 respondents. The results indicate that the Instagram content of @emak_moba has a 28,6%, while the remaining 71,4% in influenced by other factors outside the variabels examined in this study. Keyword: Social Media Content, Instagram, Uses and Gratification, Information Needs, E-Sports Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh konten media sosial Instagram @emak_moba terhadap pemenuhan kebutuhan informasi komunitas UMB E-Sport. Peneltian ini didasarkan pada teori Uses and Gratification yang memandang audiens sebagai pihak yang aktif dalam memilih media sesuai dengan kebutuhannya. Pendekatan yang digunakan adalah kuantitatif dengan metode survei. Populasi penelitian ini adalah anggota komunitas UMB E-Sport yang berjumlah 475 mahasiswa/i per 1 Mei 2025. Teknik pengambilan sampel menggunakan rumus Slovin dengan margin of error sebesar 10%, sehingga diperoleh sampel sebanyak 83 responden. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa konten media sosial Instagram @emak_moba berpengaruh sebesar 28,6% terhadap pemenuhan kebutuhan informasi komunitas UMB E-Sport, sedangkan 71,4% dipengaruhi oleh factor lain di luar variabel yang diteliti dalam penelitian ini.
