Abstract
The popularity of Dutch culture in Indonesia has sparked public interest in understanding Dutch values and heritage, thanks to the long colonial history and diplomatic relations that are still maintained to this day. The influence of Dutch culture can be seen in various aspects of life, ranging from colonial architecture, art, to the education system. Erasmus Huis Library in Jakarta, as part of the Dutch Cultural Center, plays an important role as one of the public spaces that accommodate cultural activities and promote Dutch culture to the Indonesian community, but there are problems related to the aesthetic elements of the library interior that do not fully represent the image of the Dutch identity. This design aims to create a space for the Indonesian people to learn and introduce Dutch Culture maximally through its interior design. The approach used in this design refers to the principles of aesthetics, cultural identity, and optimization of interior elements such as decorative ornaments, patterns, shapes, colors, spatial layout, spatial concepts, and materials that can support the spatial experience that introduces Dutch culture to visitors. This design method includes literature study, observation, physical analysis of the building, and the surrounding environmen. By applying interior aesthetic elements that can form an identity image, the design of the Erasmus Huis Dutch Cultural Center Library is expected to be one of the representative spaces to introduce Dutch culture. The results of this design can also be a reference in the application of interior aesthetic elements that can form an identity image in the Cultural Center Library in Indonesia. Keywords: Aesthetic elements, library, identity image, Erasmus Huis Popularitas budaya Belanda di Indonesia mendorong minat masyarakat untuk lebih memahami nilai-nilai dan warisan budaya Belanda, hal ini tidak terlepas dari sejarah kolonial yang panjang serta hubungan diplomatik yang masih terjaga hingga saat ini. Pengaruh budaya Belanda dapat dilihat dalam berbagai aspek kehidupan, mulai dari arsitektur kolonial, seni, hingga sistem pendidikan. Perpustakaan Erasmus Huis di Jakarta, sebagai bagian dari Pusat Kebudayaan Belanda, berperan penting sebagai salah satu ruang publik yang mewadahi kegiatan kebudayaan dan mempromosikan budaya Belanda kepada masyarakat Indonesia, namun terdapat permasalahan terkait elemen estetis interior perpustakaan yang belum sepenuhnya merepresentasikan citra identitas Belanda. Perancangan ini bertujuan untuk menciptakan ruang bagi masyarakat Indonesia dalam mempelajari dan memperkenalkan Budaya Belanda secara maksimal melalui desain interiornya. Pendekatan yang digunakan dalam perancangan ini mengacu pada prinsip estetika, identitas budaya, serta optimalisasi elemen interior seperti ornamen dekoratif, pola, bentuk, warna, tata ruang, konsep ruang, dan material yang dapat mendukung pengalaman ruang yang memperkenalkan budaya Belanda kepada pengunjung. Metode perancangan ini meliputi studi literatur, observasi, analisis fisik bangunan, dan lingkungan sekitar. Dengan menerapkan elemen estetis interior yang dapat membentuk citra identitas, perancangan Perpustakaan Pusat Kebudayaan Belanda Erasmus Huis ini diharapkan dapat menjadi salah satu ruang representatif untuk memperkenalkan budaya Belanda. Hasil dari perancangan ini juga dapat menjadi referensi dalam penerapan elemen estetis interior yang dapat membentuk citra identitas pada Perpustakaan Pusat Kebudayaan yang ada di Indonesia.
