Abstract
Film as a mass communication medium not only functions as entertainment, but also as a means of conveying moral messages that can shape the character of the audience. One film that contains these values is Pasutri Gaje, a comedy drama that depicts the life of a young married couple with all the dynamics of their household. This study aims to identify and analyze the meaning of the moral messages conveyed in the film Pasutri Gaje through Ferdinand de Saussure's semiotic approach. This study uses Ferdinand de Saussure's semiotics which divides signs into two main elements, namely the signifier (signifier) and the signified (signified), which is used to understand the relationship between visual/verbal forms and the meaning they contain. The research method used is descriptive qualitative using Ferdinand de Saussure's semiotic method. Data were collected through observations of seven key scenes in the film, supported by scenes in the film. The results show that the film Pasutri Gaje contains various moral messages such as the importance of honesty, responsibility, communication in marriage, and mutual understanding between partners. These messages are conveyed through verbal and nonverbal signs that are creatively constructed in the film's narrative and visuals. This research is expected to be an academic reference in the study of moral messages as well as a practical reference for filmmakers in designing meaningful narratives. Film sebagai media komunikasi massa tidak hanya berfungsi sebagai hiburan, tetapi juga sebagai sarana penyampaian pesan moral yang mampu membentuk karakter penonton. Salah satu film yang memuat nilai-nilai tersebut adalah Pasutri Gaje, sebuah drama komedi yang mengangkat kehidupan pasangan suami istri muda dengan segala dinamika rumah tangganya. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi dan menganalisis makna pesan moral yang disampaikan dalam film Pasutri Gaje melalui pendekatan semiotika Ferdinand de Saussure. Penelitian ini menggunakan semiotika Ferdinand de Saussure yang membagi tanda menjadi dua elemen utama yaitu signifier (penanda) dan signified (petanda), yang digunakan untuk memahami hubungan antara bentuk visual/verbal dengan makna yang dikandungnya. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah kualitatif deskriptif dengan menggunakan metode semiotika Ferdinand de Saussure. Data dikumpulkan melalui observasi terhadap tujuh adegan kunci dalam film, didukung oleh adegan-adegan pada film. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa film Pasutri Gaje memuat berbagai pesan moral seperti pentingnya kejujuran, tanggung jawab, komunikasi dalam pernikahan, dan sikap saling memahami antara pasangan. Pesan-pesan tersebut disampaikan melalui tanda verbal dan nonverbal yang dikonstruksi secara kreatif dalam narasi dan visual film. Penelitian ini diharapkan dapat menjadi rujukan akademik dalam kajian pesan moral serta referensi praktis bagi pembuat film dalam merancang narasi yang bermakna.
