Abstract
The documentary film "Bank Sampah Desa Bestari in Desa Sukadanau" is an inspiring documentary film, highlighting creative efforts in transforming waste into a source of income for the community. This film not only discusses the technical aspects of the process of transforming waste into income but also explores the broader social and environmental impacts. By presenting real stories from the innovators and communities involved, this film raises audience awareness of the environment and provides one example of a solution for utilizing household waste. This study examines in depth the role of the editor in shaping the narrative of the film, from scene selection, transitions and sound effects and music. The aim is to understand how editing techniques can influence audiences' understanding of environmental issues and encourage real action. Editing techniques in this film program include connecting scenes, cutting footage, shot selection, music and sound selection, transitions, pacing, visual cohesion, use of special effects, and consultation with the director. The objective of this research is to contribute to the development of documentary films that are more effective in educating the public and encouraging behavioral change. Keyword: Documenter Film, Editor, Offline Editing, Online Editing Film dokumenter "Bank Sampah Desa Bestari di Desa Sukadanau" merupakan sebuah film dokumenter yang menginspirasi, menyoroti upaya-upaya kreatif dalam mengubah limbah menjadi sumber pendapatan masyarakat. Film ini tidak hanya membahas aspek teknis dari proses transformasi sampah menjadi pendapatan, tetapi juga mengeksplorasi dampak sosial dan lingkungan yang lebih luas. Dengan menyajikan kisah-kisah nyata dari para inovator dan komunitas yang terlibat, film ini meningkatkan kepedulian penonton terhadap lingkungan serta memberikan salah satu contoh solusi pemanfaatan limbah rumah tangga. Penelitian ini mengkaji secara mendalam peran editor dalam membentuk narasi film, mulai dari pemilihan adegan, transisi, hingga penggunaan efek suara dan musik. Tujuannya adalah untuk memahami bagaimana teknik penyuntingan dapat mempengaruhi pemahaman penonton terhadap isu lingkungan dan mendorong tindakan nyata. Teknik penyuntingan dalam program film ini, seperti menghubungkan adegan, memotong footage, pemilihan shot, pemilihan musik dan suara, transisi, pacing, kohesi visual, penggunaan efek khusus serta konsultasi dengan sutradara. Sehingga penelitian ini diharapkan dapat memberikan kontribusi bagi pengembangan film dokumenter yang lebih efektif dalam mengedukasi masyarakat dan mendorong perubahan perilaku.
