Abstract
The bullying case that went viral on social media some time ago significantly impacted the image of Sekolah Tinggi Ilmu Pelayaran (STIP) Jakarta. This research analyzes audience reception of STIP's image through content uploaded on the Instagram account @stip_jakarta following the incident. This study employs a constructivism paradigm with Stuart Hall's reception analysis method. Ten informants, consisting of students and the general public who follow the @stip_jakarta account, were selected as respondents. The research provides important implications for the communication management of educational institutions, particularly in addressing image crises in the digital era. The findings can serve as a reference for developing more effective communication strategies to build and maintain a positive institutional image. Keywords: Reception Analysis, Social Media,Institutional Image,STIP, Instagram Kasus bullying yang viral di media sosial beberapa waktu lalu memberikan dampak signifikan terhadap citra Sekolah Tinggi Ilmu Pelayaran (STIP) Jakarta. Penelitian ini menganalisis resepsi khalayak terhadap citra STIP melalui konten yang diunggah di akun Instagram @stip_jakarta pasca kasus tersebut. Penelitian ini menggunakan paradigma konstruktivisme dengan metode analisis resepsi Stuart Hall. Sebanyak 10 informan yang terdiri dari mahasiswa dan masyarakat umum yang mengikuti akun @stip_jakarta dipilih sebagai responden. Penelitian ini memberikan implikasi penting bagi manajemen komunikasi institusi pendidikan, khususnya dalam menghadapi krisis citra di era digital. Hasil penelitian dapat menjadi acuan dalam menyusun strategi komunikasi yang lebih efektif untuk membangun dan mempertahankan citra positif institusi.
