Abstract
In this digital era, the internet is used as a communication tool between humans. Through the internet, social media was born which can be used to share information and knowledge. The information shared can be in the form of entertainment such as lifestyle, music, and movies. One form of Instagram social media account that provides entertainment information needs is @ussfeeds. This study aims to determine and explain the effect of Instagram utilization on fulfilling the entertainment information needs of @ussfeeds followers. This study uses social media theory 4C model on variable X namely, Context, Communication, Collaboration, Connection. and on variable Y using uses and gratifications theory namely, cognitive needs, affective needs, integrative personal needs, integrative social needs, and tension release needs. This research uses a quantitative approach with a survey method and uses purposive sampling techniques. The population of this study were followers of the @ussfeeds Instagram account and calculated using the slovin formula with a total sample of 204 respondents. Data analysis was carried out using validity test, reliability test, normality test, simple linear regression test, coefficient of determination, F test and t test. The results of this study indicate that there is a significant effect on the use of Instagram on fulfilling entertainment information needs by 46.8% and there are 53.2% others influenced by other factors outside of this study. Keywords: Social Media, Instagram, Information Needs, Entertaiment, Uses and Gratifications. Di era yang serba digital ini, internet digunakan sebagai alat komunikasi antar manusia. Melalui adanya internet, melahirkan media sosial yang dapat dimanfaatkan untuk berbagi informasi dan pengetahuan. Informasi yang dibagikan dapat berupa hiburan seperti lifestyle, musik, maupun film. Salah satu bentuk akun media sosial instagram yang menyediakan kebutuhan informasi hiburan yaitu @ussfeeds. Penelitian ini bertujuan utuk mengetahui dan menjelaskan pengaruh Pemanfaatan Instagram terhadap Pemenuhan Kebutuhan Informasi Hiburan followers @ussfeeds. Penelitian ini menggunakan teori media sosial 4C pada variabel X yaitu, Context, Communication, Collaboration, Connection. dan pada variabel Y menggunakan teori uses and gratifications yaitu, kebutuhan kognitif, kebutuhan afektif, kebutuhan pribadi integratif, kebutuhan sosial integratif, dan kebutuhan pelepasan ketegangan. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan metode survei dan menggunakan teknik purposive sampling. Populasi penelitian ini followers akun instagram @ussfeeds dan dihitung menggunakan rumus slovin dengan total sampel 204 responden. Analisis data dilakukan dengan menggunakan uji validitas, uji reliabilitas, uji normalitas, uji regresi linier sederhana, koefisien determinan, uji F dan Uji t. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa terdapat pengaruh yang signifikan pada pemanfaatan Instagram terhadap pemenuhan kebutuhan informasi hiburan sebesar 46,8% dan terdapat 53,2% lainnya dipengaruhi oleh faktor lain diluar dari penelitian ini.
