Abstract
This study examines the simultaneous role of empowering leadership and work engagement on task performance among employees in the JABODETABEK region. The research aims to understand how empowering leadership styles and work engagement collectively influence employee task performance. This quantitative study employs a convenience sampling method with 512 respondents determined through G*Power calculations. The results indicate that empowering leadership and work engagement simultaneously have a positive and significant impact on task performance. Empowering leadership has a stronger influence compared to work engagement, with the modelling dimension showing a high correlation with job goal achievement. Additionally, work engagement in the absorption dimension is strongly correlated with empowering leadership in the coordinating and information-sharing dimension, affirming that full employee engagement in work is supported by empowering leadership. Multiple linear regression analysis reveals that empowering leadership and work engagement together significantly contribute to improved task performance. These findings provide practical implications for organizations to adopt empowering leadership styles and create work environments that support employee engagement, thereby optimizing task performance. Keywords: Empowering leadership, Work engagement, Task performance Penelitian ini mengkaji peran empowering leadership dan work engagement secara simultan terhadap task performance pada pekerja di wilayah JABODATABEK. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memahami bagaimana gaya kepemimpinan yang memberdayakan dan keterlibatan kerja secara bersama-sama dapat memengaruhi kinerja tugas karyawan. Penelitian kuantitatif ini menggunakan metode convenience sampling dengan 512 responden yang ditentukan melalui perhitungan G*Power. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa empowering leadership dan work engagement secara simultan berpengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap task performance. Empowering leadership memiliki pengaruh yang lebih kuat dibandingkan work engagement, dengan dimensi modelling menunjukkan korelasi tinggi terhadap pencapaian tujuan pekerjaan. Selain itu, work engagement pada dimensi absorption juga berkorelasi kuat dengan empowering leadership pada dimensi coordinating and information sharing, menegaskan bahwa keterlibatan penuh karyawan dalam pekerjaan didukung oleh kepemimpinan yang memberdayakan. Analisis regresi linear berganda mengungkapkan bahwa empowering leadership dan work engagement secara bersama-sama berkontribusi signifikan terhadap peningkatan task performance. Hasil ini memberikan implikasi praktis bagi organisasi untuk mengadopsi gaya kepemimpinan yang memberdayakan dan menciptakan lingkungan kerja yang mendukung keterlibatan karyawan, sehingga dapat meningkatkan kinerja tugas secara optimal.
