Abstract

Human resources are one of the main driving components of an organization, while the organization is one of the pillars of the country's economy. In an increasingly competitive and dynamic world of work, one of the important factors in the process of developing a company organization is known as job performance. This job performance does not develop and even tends to decline, if the worker's task performance is not good. Task performance refers to the ability of workers in how individuals complete the tasks given and become their responsibilities with appropriate quality, on time, and efficiently. The task performance dimension is considered to be part of job crafting behavior. Job crafting is the participation of workers in making the work environment a good environment and in accordance with their abilities. In addition to being related to job crafting, task performance is also related to career competencies. Career competencies are defined as the knowledge, skills, and abilities of workers as the basis for their career development and advancement. The research method applied in this study is a quantitative research method. The sample data in this study were 514 respondents. Using the mediation regression analysis technique of the PROCES V4.2 procedure for SPSS model by Hayes, and also conducted independent t-test and one-way anova analysis. The results of the study indicate that there is a relationship between the three research variables and career competencies as a mediator in the influence of job crafting on task performance. As a mediator, career competencies weaken the relationship between job crafting and task performance, compared to the direct relationship between job crafting and task performance. Based on the results of the analysis process that has been carried out, the results show that career competencies have a role as a mediator in the influence of job crafting on task performance. Keywords: Task Performance, Job Crafting, and Career Competencies Sumber daya manusia adalah salah satu komponen penggerak utama suatu organisasi, sementara organisasi adalah salah satu tonggak perekonomian negara.
