Abstract
The documentary film "Canting Malam: Kisah Tanah Laweyan" was created to highlight the history of the Batik Village in Laweyan, one of the oldest and most influential batik villages in Indonesia. The film aims to address the lack of public knowledge about the origins of batik and Laweyan's significant role in the history of Indonesian batik. "Canting Malam: Kisah Tanah Laweyan" is a historical documentary presented in an expository style. A narrator guides the audience, providing explanations and context about the history of the Laweyan Batik Village. Through this narration, viewers are invited to understand the origins and importance of the Batik Village in Laweyan in the history of Indonesian batik, enriching cultural insights through an informative and structured approach. As the director, the author played an active role in the production of "Canting Malam: Kisah Tanah Laweyan." Through hard work and dedication, this film successfully reveals the hidden history and stories of the Laweyan Batik Village that were previously unknown. The conclusion of this work shows that the production of the documentary “Canting Malam: Kisah Tanah Laweyan” has successfully highlighted the historical, cultural, and economic values present in the village. The production process, which began with in-depth research, successfully uncovered many important aspects of the development of the batik industry in Laweyan, from traditional batik-making techniques to historical records that are unknown to many. Film dokumenter "Canting Malam: Kisah Tanah Laweyan" dibuat untuk mengangkat sejarah Kampoeng Batik di Laweyan, yang merupakan salah satu kampung batik tertua dan berpengaruh di Indonesia. Film ini bertujuan untuk mengisi kurangnya pengetahuan masyarakat tentang asal usul batik dan peran penting Laweyan dalam sejarah batik Indonesia. Film dokumenter "Canting Malam: Kisah Tanah Laweyan" bergenre sejarah dan disajikan dengan gaya eksposisi. Narator hadir sebagai pemandu, memberikan penjelasan dan konteks tentang sejarah Kampoeng Batik Laweyan. Melalui narasi ini, penonton diajak memahami asal usul dan pentingnya Kampoeng Batik Laweyan dalam sejarah batik Indonesia, memperkaya wawasan budaya melalui pendekatan yang informatif dan terstruktur. Penulis sebagai sutradara, berperan aktif dalam produksi film dokumenter "Canting Malam: Kisah Tanah Laweyan". Melalui kerja keras dan dedikasi, film ini berhasil mengungkap sejarah dan cerita tersembunyi tentang Kampoeng Batik Laweyan yang belum banyak diketahui. Kesimpulan dari karya ini menunjukkan bahwa produksi film dokumenter “Canting Malam: Kisah Tanah Laweyan” telah berhasil mengangkat nilai sejarah, budaya, dan ekonomi yang ada di kampung tersebut. Proses produksi yang dimulai dengan riset mendalam berhasil mengungkap banyak aspek penting tentang perkembangan industri batik di Laweyan, mulai dari teknik pembuatan batik tradisional hingga catatan sejarah yang belum diketahui banyak orang.
