Abstract

The film "Petualangan Sherina 2" which was released in 2023 is a sequel to the film "Petualangan Sherina" which aired in 2000. This film became very popular in Indonesia because it was able to present an entertaining story and full of moral messages that could be a reflection for the audience. The purpose of this study was to analyze and determine the representation of friendship in the film "Petualangan Sherina 2". This study uses Charles Sanders Pierce's semiotic method analysis. The semiotic method is used to analyze visual signs, and is discussed using theory to gain an understanding of signs of friendship. By using the constructivism paradigm through a descriptive qualitative approach research type. The results of the study through semiotic analysis show that the film Petualangan Sherina 2 depicts friendship as a harmonious relationship and challenges accompanied by conflict to strengthen the importance of their friendship. This film shows aspects of friendship such as respect, trust, capitalization, social support, and responsiveness as additions to strengthen a friendship relationship. Film "Petualangan Sherina 2" yang dirilis pada tahun 2023 adalah sekuel dari film "Petualangan Sherina" yang tayang pada tahun 2000. Film ini menjadi sangat populer di Indonesia karena mampu menyajikan cerita yang menghibur dan penuh pesan moral yang dapat menjadi bahan refleksi bagi penonton. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk menganalisis dan mengetahui representasi persahabatan dalam film "Petualangan Sherina 2". Penelitian ini menggunakan analisis metode semiotika Charles Sanders Pierce. Metode semiotika digunakan untuk menganalisis tanda-tanda visual, dan dibahas menggunakan teori untuk mendapatkan pemahaman mengenai tanda persahabatan. Dengan menggunakan paradigma konstruktivisme melalui tipe penelitian pendekatan kualitatif yang bersifat deskriptif. Hasil penelitian melalui analisis semiotika menunjukkan bahwa film Petualangan Sherina 2 menggambarkan persahabatan sebagai hubungan yang penuh harmonis dan tantangan yang disertai dengan konflik untuk memperkuat pentingnya persahabatan mereka. Film ini memperlihatkan aspek-aspek persahabatan seperti respect, trust, capitalization, social support, dan responsiviness sebagai penambahan untuk memperkuat suatu hubungan persahabatan.
