Abstract
The word "Insecure" in English means a feeling of insecurity, lack of confidence, and uncertainty about one's abilities or whether others like them. Feelings of insecurity are generally felt by the age range of teenagers to adults. This is evident in previous research that teenagers in Indonesia with an age range of 17-20 years, almost more than 50 percent of teenagers from 110 respondents felt insecure, the causes of which include being insecure about themselves in terms of physical and the biggest is social media. This feeling of insecurity is also experienced by one of the famous singers, Taylor Swift, Taylor herself poured out her feelings of insecurity in one of her works entitled "Anti Hero". Therefore, this study aims to analyze the signs of insecurity in Taylor Swift's Anti Hero video clip, using qualitative research methods and the concept of Charles Sanders Peirce's Semiotic theory which uses the concept of Representament, Object, and Interpretant. The results of this study found 6 scenes that indicate signs of insecurity, namely scenes about insecurity due to lack of self-affirmation, from social rejection, insecurity in one's own body, insecurity that comes from perfectionism, insecurity that results in phobia of weight gain, and social insecurity about the future. From this study, it is expected to become knowledge and literature, especially regarding communication science, analysis of signs from a communication media, semiotics, to feelings of insecurity Kata "Insecure" dalam bahasa Inggris berarti perasaan tidak aman, kurang percaya diri, dan ketidakpastian akan kemampuan diri atau apakah orang lain menyukainya. Perasaan Insecure umumnya dirasakan oleh rentang usia remaja hingga dewasa. Hal ini terbukti pada penelitian terdahulu bahwa remaja di Indonesia pada tahun 2021 dengan rentang umur 17-20 tahun, hampir lebih dari 50 persen remaja dari 110 responden merasakan perasaan Insecure, penyebabnya antara lain Insecure terhadap diri sendiri dalam hal fisik dan terbesar adalah media sosial. Perasaan Insecure ini juga dialami oleh salah satu penyanyi terkenal yaitu Taylor Swift, Taylor sendiri menuangkan rasa Insecure pada salah satu karya nya berjudul “Anti Hero”. Oleh sebab itu, penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisa tanda-tanda insecure pada video klip Anti Hero karya Taylor Swift, dengan menggunakan metode penelitian kualitatif dan konsep teori Semiotika milik Charles Sanders Peirce yang menggunakan konsep Representament, Object, dan Interpretant. Hasil dari penelitian ini adalah ditemukan 6 scene yang mengindikasikan terdapat tanda-tanda insecure, yaitu scene mengenai insecure akibat dari kurangnya afirmasi diri, dari penolakan sosial, insecure pada tubuh sendiri, insecure yang berasal dari sifat perfeksionisme, insecure yang mengakibatkan fobia terhadap kenaikan berat badan, dan insecure sosial terhadap masa depan. Dari penelitian ini diharapkan dapat menjadi pengetahuan dan literatur khususnya mengenai ilmu komunikasi, analisa tanda-tanda dari sebuah media komunikasi, semiotika, hingga perasaan insecure.
