Abstract

At this time, the number of movie enthusiasts in Indonesia has increased dramatically. Film is one of the most popular forms of entertainment and education. This is because films contain audio-visual elements that are easily absorbed by people. One film that serves as both entertainment and educational media is "6/45 Lucky Lotto." This film tells the story of two soldiers who switch nationalities in order to compete for a lottery ticket. This research addresses the theme of cultural shock representation in the film "6/45 Lucky Lotto," directed and written by Park Gyu Tae (2022). In this film, representation refers to the stages of cultural shock experienced by the characters. Given the film's popularity as entertainment, this study analyzes how cultural shock is represented in the film through the main characters, Yong Ho and Chun Woo. In analyzing the representation of cultural shock through film media, this study employs Semiotics and Charles Sanders Peirce's theory as an analytical tool, alongside Stuart Hall's Representation theory. The semiotic method is used to analyze visual signs and discussed using the theory to gain an understanding of cultural shock signs. The research results reveal that in the film "6/45 Lucky Lotto," the use of signs, symbols, and indices, especially symbols, is quite dominant, including the use of color. The film has three types of signs: representamen, object, and symbol. The events and experiences of Yong Ho and Chun Woo convey the message that they are experiencing cultural shock. Keywords: Semiotics, Peirce, Representation, and Cultural Shock Pada saat ini peminat film di Indonesia meningkat drastis. Film merupakan salah satu media hiburan dan edukasi yang paling diminati. Karena film berisi audio-visual yang mudah diterima seseorang. Salah satu film yang berujuan sebagai media hiburan sekaligus edukasi adalah film 6/45 Lucky Lotto. Film ini menceritakan tentang 2 orang tentara yang bertukar kewarganegaaraan demi memperebutkan tiket lotre. Penelitian ini mengangkat tema representasi gegar budaya dalam film 6/45 Lucky Lotto yang disutradarai sekaligus ditulis oleh Park Gyu Tae (2022). Dalam film ini, representasi merujuk pada tahapan-tahapan gegar budaya yang dialami pemeran dalam film ini. Dengan latar belakang popularitas film sebagai hiburan, penelitian ini menganalisis bagaimana gegar budaya direpresentasikan dalam film ini, melalui karakter utama yaitu Yong Ho dan Chun Woo. Dalam menganalisis representasi gegar budaya melalui media film, penelitian ini memakai metode Semiotika dan teori Charles Sanders Peirce sebagai pisau analisis, Representasi Stuart Hall. Metode semiotika digunakan untuk menganalisis tanda-tanda visual, dan dibahas menggunakan teori untuk mendapatkan pemahaman mengenai tanda gegar budaya. Hasil penelitian penulis menemukan fakta bahwa dalam film 6/45 Lucky Lotto penggunaan tanda, simbol dan indeks, terutama simbol cukup dominan digunakan, termasuk penggunaan warna. Analisis semiotika Charles Sanders Peirce ini memiliki tiga macam tanda yaitu representaement, object, dan symbol. Kejadian dan pengalaman yang dialami Yong Ho dan Chun Woo memberikan pesan bahwa mereka mengalami gegar budaya. Kata Kunci: Semiotika, Pierce, Representasi , dan Gegar Budaya
