Abstract

The rapid development of the times makes long-distance relationship communication is communication that is carried out indirectly but requires a technology to communicate with each other because communication is very important in the family, especially to strengthen the relationship between parents and children. Access to face-to-face communication of children to parents, so they only rely on Whats App communication media. To support this research, there are five previous studies with relevant topics in the field of communication, with that the theory used includes communication, the function and purpose of communication, family communication, interpersonal communication, the nature of interpersonal communication, the principles of interpersonal communication, interpersonal relationships, interpersonal forms, interpersonal theory. This research uses a constructive paradigm, the method used is a qualitative descriptive method. The subjects of this study consisted of 8 informants among them, 4 child informants and 4 parent informants. Data collection through in-depth interviews. The results of this study show that forms of interpersonal communication between parents and children over long distances through whats app by means of conversation, intimate interaction, and evaluation or interview. With the message conveyed in the discussion when communicating about daily activities using features that are most often used in the process of interpersonal communication, namely chat, video call or free call and the obstacles to long-distance communication most experienced by children are the longer distance with parents and busy children. Perkembangan zaman yang semakin pesat mebuat komunikasi hubungan jarak jauh adalah komunikasi yang dilakukan secara tidak langsung melainkan membutuhkan suatu teknologi untuk saling berkomunikasi karna komunikasi sangat penting dalam keluarga, terutama untuk mempererat hubungan antar orang tua dengan anak. Akses untuk melakukan komunikasi tatap muka anak kepada orang tua, sehingga mereka hanya mengandalkan media komunikasi Whats App. Untuk mendukung penelitian ini, terdapat lima penelitian terdahulu dengan topik yang relevan dalam bidang komunikasi, dengan itu teori teori yang digunakan meliputi komunikasi, fungsi dan tujuan komunikasi, komunikasi keluarga, komunikasi interpersonal, sifat komunikasi interpersonal, prinsip-prinsip komunikasi interpersonal, hubungan interpersonal, bentuk- bentuk interpersonal, teori interpersonal, Penelitian ini menggunakan paradigm konstruktiv, metode yang digunakan adalah metode deskriptif kualitatif . Subjek penelitian ini terdiri dari 8 orang informan yang diantara nya, 4 informan anak dan 4 informan orang tua. Pengumpulan data melalui wawancara mendalam. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukan bahwa bentuk-bentuk komunikasi Interpersonal Antara orang tua dan anak dalam jarak jauh melalui whats app dengan cara percakapan, interksi intim, dan evaluasi atau wawancara. Dengan pesan yang disampaikan di dalam pembahasan saat berkomunikasi mengenai kegiatan sehari hari menggunakan fitur yang paling sering digunakan dalam proses komunikasi interpersonal yaitu chat, video call atau free call serta hambatan komunikasi jarak jauh yang paling banyak dialami oleh anak adalah jarak yang semakin jauh dengan orangtua dan kesibukan anak .
