Abstract

This research analyzes the influences of transformational leadership and competence on employee performance which is mediated by achievement motivation in Government Agencies. The total population in this study was 354 employees using a purposive sampling technique with the criteria being permanent employees who had worked for more than 1 year, so the sample size was 188 employees. The data sources used are primary data obtained directly in the field such as interviews, observations and questionnaires as well as secondary data obtained from literature studies through journals, documentation, books and others. The data analysis method in this research uses Partial Least Square (PLS) with the help of SmartPLS 3.2.9 software. The results of this research show that: 1) Transformational Leadership has a positive and significant effect on employee performance, 2) Transformational Leadership has a positive and significant effect on Achievement Motivation, 3) Competency has a positive and significant effect on Employee Performance, 4) Competency has a positive effect and significant to Achievement Motivation, 5) Achievement Motivation has a positive and significant effect on Employee Performance, 6) Transformational Leadership has a positive and significant effect through Achievement Motivation on Employee Performance, 7) Competence has a positive and significant effect through Achievement Motivation. Keywords: Transformational Leadership, Competence, Achievement Motivation, Employee Performance Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pengaruh kepemimpinan transformasional dan kompetensi terhadap kinerja pegawai yang dimediasi motivasi berprestasi diInstansi Pemerintah. Jumlah populasi dalam penelitian ini 354 pegawai dengan teknik purposive sampling dengan kriteria pegawai tetap yang telah bekerja lebih dari 1 tahun, maka jumlah sampel yang ditetapkan sebanyak 188 pegawai. Sumber data yang digunakan adalah data primer yang didapat secara langsung di lapangan seperti wawancara, observasi dan kuesioner serta data sekunder yang diperoleh dari studi Pustaka melalui jurnal, dokumentasi, buku dan lainnya. Metode analisis data pada penelitian ini menggunakan Partial Least Square (PLS) dengan bantuan software SmartPLS 3.2.9. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa: 1) Kepemimpinan Transformasional berpengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap kinerja pegawai, 2) Kepemimpinan Transformasional berpengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap Motivasi Berprestasi, 3) Kompetensi berpengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap Kinerja Pegawai, 4) Kompetensi berpengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap Motivasi Berprestasi, 5) Motivasi Berprestasi berpengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap Kinerja Pegawai, 6) Kepemimpinan Transformasional berpengaruh positif dan signifikan melalui Motivasi Berprestasi terhadap Kinerja Pegawai, 7) Kompetensi berpengaruh positif dan signifikan melalui Motivasi Berprestasi terhadap Kinerja Pegawai.
