Abstract

Waste in Indonesia, especially Jakarta, is still an unresolved problem. The government has made efforts to reduce waste, but there are still many people who have not contributed. One of them is in the RW 05 area, Slipi Village, West Jakarta, the community has not utilized the available trash bins to group them according to type. Moreover, children in this area also do not have knowledge of plastic waste management and the 3R (Reduce, Reuse, Recycle) method. This activity requires prior planning so that all activities can run as expected. There are many things that need to be prepared before educational activities begin, such as observing the location, interviewing partners, licensing cooperation with partners, making activity banners, making name tags, and so on. In this educational activity, environmental communication theory is used to communicate with TAPN participants. The choice of theory is adjusted to the theme of the activity. Because, the aim of this activity is to preserve the environment, so environmental communication is needed in communicating with the participants. The result of this educational activity is that TAPN participants can understand waste management using the 3R method (Reduce, Reuse, Recycle) and can implement it in their daily lives. Apart from that, the TR3ASURE team also distributed pocket books related to waste management using the 3R method (Reduce, Reuse, Recycle) to TAPN participants. Keywords: Plastic Waste, 3R Method, Planning, Environmental Communication Sampah di Indonesia, khususnya Jakarta masih menjadi hal yang belum terselesaikan masalahnya. Pemerintah sudah melakukan upaya untuk mengurangi sampah, namun masih banyak masyarakat yang belum ikut berkontribusi. Salah satunya di wilayah RW 05 Kelurahan Slipi Jakarta Barat, masyarakat belum memanfaatkan tempat sampah yang tersedia untuk dikelompokkan sesuai jenisnya. Terlebih lagi, anak-anak di wilayah tersebut juga belum memiliki pengetahuan dari pengelolaan sampah plastik dan metode 3R (Reduce, Reuse, Recycle). Kegiatan ini perlu adanya perencanaan terlebih dahulu agar seluruh kegiatan bisa berjalan sesuai dengan yang diharapkan. Banyak hal yang perlu dipersiapkan sebelum kegiatan edukasi dimulai, seperti obervasi tempat, wawancara dengan mitra, perizinan kerja sama dengan mitra, pembuatan banner kegiatan, membuat name tag, dan lain sebagainya. Dalam kegiatan edukasi ini, menggunakan teori komunikasi lingkungan untuk berkomunikasi dengan peserta TAPN. Pemilihan teori ini disesuaikan dengan tema dari kegiatan. Sebab, tujuan dari kegiatan ini adalah untuk melestarikan lingkungan, sehingga diperlukan komunikasi lingkungan dalam berkomunikasi dengan para peserta. Hasil dari kegiatan edukasi ini adalah peserta TAPN dapat memahami pengelolaan sampah menggunakan metode 3R (Reduce, Reuse, Recycle) dan dapat mengimplementasikan di kehidupan sehari-hari. Selain itu, tim TR3ASURE juga membagikan buku saku terkait pengelolaan sampah dengan metode 3R (Reduce, Reuse, Recycle) kepada peserta TAPN sebagai modul pembelajaran lebih lanjut dan agar mereka menyampaikan informasi yang didapat kepada teman sebayanya.
