Abstract

This research aims to identify self-image representation in the hijab fashion influencer through Charles Sanders Pierce's semiotic analysis on social media Instagram Shirin Al-athrus @Shireeenz. The focus of this research is how the representation works on the relationship of signs and meanings through the trichotomy component, namely signs, objects, interpretants that are used in meaning to find signs regarding self-image. This research library review consists of seven previous studies with theoretical studies that include messages, signs and meanings in posts, representations, self-image, communication semiotics and also Pierce to construct self-image in social media. This research paradigm uses the paradigm of constructivism with the research method of Charles Sanders Pierce's semiotics analysis which is used to explain the signs and meanings that show self-image in the hijab fashion influencer. This analysis works on the relationship of sign and meaning. The concept of representation itself can change and there is always a new meaning. The results of this research show that hijab fashion influencers have an important role in understanding and implementing the concept of public relations to maintain a reputation where self-image is not only reflected in physical interactions, but also through digital media. Keywords: Self-Image, Representation, Semiotics Pierce, Influencer, Hijab Fashion Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasikan representasi citra diri pada hijab fashion influencer melalui analisis semiotika Charles Sanders Peirce pada media sosial Instagram Shirin Al-athrus @Shireeenz. Fokus penelitian ini yaitu bagaimana representasi bekerja atas hubungan tanda dan makna melalui komponen trikotomi yaitu sign, object, interpretant yang digunakan dalam pemaknaan untuk menemukan tanda-tanda mengenai citra diri. Tinjauan Pustaka penelitian ini terdiri dari tujuh penelitian terdahulu dengan kajian teoritis yang meliputi pesan, tanda dan makna dalam postingan, representasi, citra diri, semiotika komunikasi dan juga Pierce untuk mengkonstruksikan citra diri dalam media sosial. Paradigma penelitian ini menggunakan paradigma konstruktivisme dengan metode penelitian Analisis semiotika Charles Sanders Peirce yang digunakan untuk menjelaskan tanda dan makna yang menunjukkan citra diri pada hijab fashion influencer. Analisis ini bekerja atas hubungan tanda dan makna. Konsep dari representasi sendiri dapat berubah dan selalu ada pemaknaan baru. Hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa hijab fashion influencer memiliki peran penting dalam memahami dan mengimplementasikan konsep public relation untuk mempertahankan reputasi yang mana citra diri tidak hanya tercermin dalam interakasi fisik, namun juga melalui media digital.
