Abstract

The mass media and politics are inextricably linked, and in a political perspective, the mass media has become a crucial element in the democratization process by providing an arena and channel for public debate and disseminating various information and opinions, one of which is the Indonesia Lawyers Club program. The S-O-R theory emphasizes that the message conveyed can stimulate enthusiasm in the message recipient, leading them to quickly accept the message and consequently change their attitudes and behaviors. In this study, the stimulus is the exposure to the Indonesia Lawyers Club program, organism students of the Faculty of Communication Sciences at Mercu Buana University in 2019. The response is the interest in learning about politics. This research is a quantitative study with a positivist paradigm, using the survey method by distributing questionnaires through Google Forms with a Likert scale. This research use purposive sampling technique, where the researcher collected information from 76 students, obtained through the Slovin formula from a total population of 324 active students of the Faculty of Communication Sciences in 2019. The research results show a correlation value of 0.687, indicating a strong and positive relationship. Meanwhile, the coefficient of determination is 47.2%, suggesting that 47.2% of the interest in learning about politics is influenced by exposure to the Indonesia Lawyers Club program, while the remaining 52.8% is influenced by other variables not examined in this research. Keywords: Indonesia Lawyers Club, Interest, Politics Media massa sudah tidak bisa dilepaskan dengan politik dan begitu juga sebaliknya, dalam perspektif politik, media massa telah menjadi elemen penting dalam proses demokratisasi karena penyediaan arena dan saluran bagi debat publik dan juga berperan menyebarluaskan berbagai informasi dan pendapat salah satunya adalah program Indonesia Lawyers Club. Teori S-O-R menekankan kepada pesan yang disampaikan dapat menumbuhkan gairah kepada penerima pesan sehingga penerima pesan tersebut dengan cepat dapat menerima pesan yang diterima, kemudian terjadi perubahan perilaku sikap. Stimulus dalam penelitian ini adalah Terpaan Program Indonesia Lawyers Club, organisme mahasiswa fakultas ilmu komunikasi universitas mercu buana angkatan 2019, dengan respons berupa minat belajar politik. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian dengan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan paradigma positivisme menggunakan Metode survei dengan cara menyebarkan kuesioner melalui Google form dengan skala likert, penelitian ini menggunakan teknik purposive sampling dimana peneliti mengumpulkan informasi sampel 76 mahasiswa yang didapat dari rumus slovin dari populasi mahasiswa Fakultas ilmu komunikasi angkatan 2019 sebanyak 324 mahasiswa aktif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa nilai korelasi sebesar 0,687 yang menunjukkan hubungan positif dan kuat. Sementara koefisien determinasi diperoleh sebesar 47,2 % yang menunjukkan bahwa sebesar 47,2% Minat Belajar Politik dipengaruhi Oleh Terpaan Program Indonesia Lawyers Club , sedangkan sisanya 52,8 % dipengaruhi variabel lain yang tidak diteliti.
