Abstract
This Final Project Report focuses on the 'Design of a Community Center in the Waterfront City Area of Pontianak using a Neo Vernacular Architectural Approach.' This approach emphasizes the creation of contemporary architecture that integrates traditional and vernacular elements to produce a building that harmonizes with the environment and reflects the local identity and culture of Pontianak. The designed Community Center is located in the heart of Waterfront City Pontianak, providing a new face to the area without erasing its existing traditional values. This Community Center serves as a hub for various activities, housing functions such as meeting rooms, exhibition spaces, learning areas, and other public spaces. The outcome of this report is a Community Center design that blends modern and traditional aesthetics, creating a comfortable and functional space for the community. Additionally, by utilizing the Neo Vernacular architectural approach, this building not only serves as a gathering and activity space for the community but also becomes a symbol of local pride and a new icon in the Waterfront City Pontianak area. The building is capable of preserving and strengthening the local cultural identity amid the progress of time. Laporan Tugas Akhir ini berfokus pada "Perancangan Community Center pada Kawasan Waterfront City Pontianak dengan Pendekatan Arsitektur Neo Vernakular". Pendekatan ini menekankan pada penciptaan arsitektur kontemporer yang memadukan unsur-unsur tradisional dan vernakular, untuk menghasilkan bangunan yang selaras dengan lingkungan serta mencerminkan identitas dan budaya lokal Pontianak. Community Center yang dirancang berada di pusat Waterfront City Pontianak, memberikan wajah baru pada kawasan tersebut tanpa menghilangkan nilai-nilai tradisional yang ada. Community Center ini menjadi pusat aktivitas masyarakat dengan berbagai fungsi yang ada di dalamnya, seperti ruang pertemuan, ruang pameran, ruang belajar, dan area publik lainnya. Hasil dari laporan ini adalah rancangan Community Center yang menggabungkan estetika modern dan tradisional, menciptakan ruang yang nyaman dan fungsional untuk masyarakat. Selain itu, dengan memanfaatkan pendekatan arsitektur Neo Vernakular, bangunan ini tidak hanya berfungsi sebagai tempat berkumpul dan beraktivitas bagi masyarakat, namun juga menjadi simbol kebanggaan lokal dan ikon baru kawasan Waterfront City Pontianak. Bangunan ini mampu mempertahankan dan sekaligus memperkuat identitas budaya lokal di tengah perkembangan zaman.
