Abstract

Editing is one of the most important things in creating a good film, without editing then a film will look unpleasant to enjoy. Editors must understand very well in arranging images and directions in order to be able to tell the narrative clearly and coherently so as not to confuse the audience. In order to successfully build these parts to effectiveness, editors must successfully perform every editing function. COMPLETE is a comedy-drama film that tells the story of the friendship ofthree friends with disabilities who are divided because of a woman named Becca who Cecep likes, but Becca likes Tatang, causing misunderstandings between Cecep and Tatang. The role of the writer as an image editor or editor in assembling and making a film based on the script made by the scriptwriter, images taken by the DoP and planned by the Director There are several stages of editing that the author does, these stages are aqcuisition and organization, where the editing stage begins, from collecting shooting material from the production team to sorting folders to facilitate the work of the editor, namely the author himself, then proceed to the offline editing stage, which is the initial stage of editing by combining the images and shots taken so as to form a scene based on the script. Then the next stage is online editing, which is adding effects such as, color grading, visual effects, motion graphics, sound effects, backsound, and transitions. The last is the mastering & delivery stage, which is the stage of refinement, formatting, and being prepared for distribution to audiences through several platforms. Editing merupakan salah satu hal yang terpenting dalam menciptakan sebuah film yang bagus, tanpa adnya editing maka sebuah film akan tampak tidak enak untuk dinikmati. Editor harus memahami betul dalammengatur gambar dan arah agar mampu menuturkan naratif secara jelas dan koheren sehingga tidak membingungkan penonton. Supaya berhasil membangun bagian- bagian tersebut hingga efektif, penyunting harus berhasil melakukan setiap fungsi editing. COMPLETE merupakan film drama komedi yang bercerita tentang kisah persahabatan tiga orang sahabat disabilitas yang terpecah belah karena adanya seorang perempuan bernama Becca yang disukai oleh Cecep namun Becca menyukai Tatang sehingga terjadinya kesalahpahaman antara Cecep dan Tatang. Peran penulis sebagai seorang penyunting gambar atau editor dalam merangkai dan membuat sebuah film berdasarkan naskah yang dibuatoleh penulis naskah, gambar yang diambil oleh DoP dan di rencanakan oleh Sutradara Terdapat beberapa tahap editing yang penulis lakukan, tapan-tahapan tersebut yaitu aqcuisition dan organization, dimana tahap editing dimulai, dari mengumpulkan materi hasil shooting dari tim produksi sampai mengurutkan folder-folder agar memudahkan kerja editor yaitu penulis sendiri, kemudian lanjut ke tahap offline editing yaitu tahap awal editing dengan menyatukan gambar-gambar dan shot-shot yang diambil sehingga membentuk scene yang berdasarkan naskah. Kemudian tahap selanjutnya adalah oline editing yaitu menambahkan efek-efek seperti, color grading, visual effect, motion graphic, sound effect, backsound, dan transisi. Terakhir adalah tahap mastering & delivery yaitu tahap penyempurnaan, penformatan dan disiapkan untuk pendistribusian kepada audiens melalui beberapa platform.
