Abstract
Podcast is a form of new media that presents a variety of digital audio content containg information, entertainment, education, news, sports, fictional stories that can be accessed via smartphones, tablets, computers. Podcasts are one of the content that is quite popular because the content can be listened to while traveling, such as commuting to the office or while working and while doing other other things. Apart from that, podcasts are also content that is widely heard because there are interesting hosts in it so that stories and any information can be heard properly. The TAPN program "How To Be Podcaster" with the sub-theme "Podcast Assistance and Training in Improving Host and Public Speaking Skills for Budi Mulia Vocational High School Students for the Period of March-July 2023" was held face-to-face. This mentoring activity is aimed at Budi Mulia Vocational School Students and aims to improve the competence of Host and Public Speaking skills in creating podcast content. This TAPN activity contains assistance to students on how to become an attractive host and increase interest and talent in public speaking in 8 meetings and exercises. The results of this activity were 4 podcast content with each theme determined by each group, collected via Google Drive and published on the Srikandi team's social media. During this mentoring activity, the author noted that there were 5 students who experienced increased skills in hosting and public speaking assistance. With this increase, the authors hope that students who have an interest in hosting and public speaking can further develop and be useful in the future. Keywords : podcast, host, public speaking, content, student, vocational high school, Budi Mulia Vocational School Podcast merupakan salah satu bentuk dari media baru yang menyajikan konten audio digital variasi berisi informasi, hiburan, Pendidikan, berita, olahraga, cerita fiksi yang dapat diakses melalui smartphone, tablet, computer. Selain itu podcast juga menjadi konten yang banyak didengar karena di dalamnya terdapat host yang menarik sehingga cerita dan informasi apapun bisa didengarkan dengan baik. Program TAPN “How To Be Podcaster” dengan sub tema “Pendampingan dan Pelatihan Podcast Dalam Meningkatkan Keahlian Host dan Public Speaking Siswa SMK Budi Mulia Periode Bulan Maret-Juli 2023” ini diselenggarakan secara tatap muka. Kegiatan pendampingan ini ditujukan kepada Siswa SMK Budi Mulia dan bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kompetensi keahlian Host dan Public Speaking dalam pembuatan konten podcast. Kegiatan TAPN ini berisikan pendampingan kepada siswa cara menjadi host yang menarik serta meningkatkan minat dan bakat dalam public speaking dalam 8 kali pertemuan dan latihan. Hasil dari kegiatan ini terdapat 4 konten podcast dengan masing-masing tema yang sudah ditentukan oleh masing-masing kelompok, dikumpulkan melalui Google Drive dan dipublikasikan pada media sosial tim Srikandi. Selama kegiatan pendampingan ini berlangsung, penulis mencatat terdapat 5 siswa yang mengalami peningkatan keahlian pada pendampingan host dan public speaking. Dengan peningkatan tersebut penulis berharap siswa yang memiliki minat dalam host dan public speaking bisa semakin berkembang dan bermanfaat kedepannya.
