Abstract

Blok M is a business and world district located in Kebayoran Baru, South Jakarta, Indonesia. This place evolved from Iskandarsyah Street to the east, Bulungan Street to the west, Falatehan Street to the north, and Melawai Street to the south. In this place there is also a location which is also known as Little Tokyo. But for today, the majority of which are all modern and sophisticated, this makes the Blok M area, especially Blok M square, very empty of enthusiasts because they cannot compete with the surrounding environmental factors. Therefore, this time the design wants to raise a design that is motivated to elevate the essence of the Blok M area itself, through a more iconic and modern building re-design of Blok M Square, by applying a tropical modern urban approach. In the urban context, the building will later be known as the new face of Blok m itself, and it lags behind social and economic development for the surrounding environment. In this design process, applying the modern tropical urban concept that adapts elements of energy-efficient buildings and also the beneficiaries of the surrounding environment (design location) to the building concept, thereby creating buildings that pay attention to local comfort. Keywords: Re-design, Urban, Tropical Modern, Blok M Square Blok M adalah kawasan bisnis dan perbelanjaan yang terletak di Kebayoran Baru, Jakarta Selatan, Indonesia. Tempat ini berbatasan dengan jalan Iskandarsyah di sebelah timur, jalan Bulungan di sebelah barat, jalan Falatehan di sebelah utara, dan jalan Melawai di sebelah selatan.Di tempat ini juga terdapat sebuah lokasi yang juga disebut sebagai Little Tokyo. Namun untuk zaman sekarang ini yang mayorits semua serba modern dan canggih,hal tersebut membuat kawasan Blok M terutama Blok M square ini sangat sepi peminat dikarenakan kalah nya bersaing terhadap faktor lingkungan sekitar. Maka dari itu design kali ini ingin mengangkat sebuah rancangan yang berpeluang untuk menaikan esensi dari kawasan Blok M itu sendiri,melalui suatu rancangan bangunan re-design yang lebih iconic dan juga modern terhadap Blok M Square, dengan menerapkan pendekatan Urban modern tropis. Dalam konteks urban, bangunan tersebut nanti nya dikenal sebagai wajah baru dari Blok m itu sendiri, dan mengedepankan hal perkembangan social dan juga ekonomi untuk lingkungan disekitar. Dalam proses perancangan ini, menerapkan konsep Urban modern tropis yang mengadaptasikan unsur bangunan hemat energy dan juga pemanfaat lingkungan sekitar (lokasi perancangan) pada konsep bangunan, sehingga menciptakan bangunan yang memperhatikan kenymanan setempat.
