Abstract
Film is a work of art. Documentary films are films that tell a real event with the power of the creator's ideas in assembling interesting pictures to make them special as a whole. The documentary film entitled "Portrait of Silver Man" tells the story of silver man's life in the Metropolitan city. In 2019, the world was shocked by the news of the COVID-19 virus outbreak which made the world economy weaken, including Indonesia. The process of the stages that were passed in the making of the documentary film “Potret Manusia Silver” was carried out in a period of approximately 2 months for shooting and interviews with relevant sources in 3 departure sessions located in the Tangerang and Jakarta areas. In making this documentary, the author as an editor makes cuts using montage theory as the basis for the work, the montage carried out by the author himself uses Ideational Montage, namely narrative based on images. Keywords: Documentary Film, Silver Man, Social Phenomenon Film merupakan salah satu hasil karya seni. Film dokumenter merupakan film yang menceritakan sebuah kejadian nyata dengan kekuatan ide kreatornya dalam merangkai gambar-gambar menarik menjadi istimewa secara keseluruhan. Film dokumenter berjudul “Potret Manusia Silver” ini bercerita tentang kehidupan manusia silver di kota Metropolitan. Ditahun 2019 dunia digemparkan dengan berita wabah virus covid-19 yang membuat perekenomian dunia melemah, tak terkecuali negara Indonesia. Proses tahapan yang dilalui dalam pembuatan film dokumenter “Potret Manusia Silver” dilaksanakan dalam kurun waktu kurang lebih 2 bulan untuk pengambilan gambar dan wawancara terhadap narasumber yang terkait dalam 3 sesi keberangkatan yang berlokasi di daerah Tangerang dan Jakarta.. Dalam pembuatan film dokumenter ini, penulis sebagai seorang editor yang melakukan pemotongan dengan menggunakan teori montage sebagai landasan untuk pengerjaan, montage yang dilakukan oleh penulis sendiri menggunakan Ideational Montage yaitu narasi berdasarkan gambar.
