Abstract
Film is one of the most popular mass media today. An interesting storyline and good sound effects are one of the reasons the audience does not feel bored and does not need to imagine like reading a book. The Gangster, The Cop, The Devil is a film based on a true story, which tell the story of police and gangsters who work together to uncover serial murders in South Korea. The purpose of this study is to find out and analyze the content of the Moral Message of Hard Work contained in the films The Gangster, The Cop, The Devil. This research uses the theory of reality construction with concepts about hard work and semiotics of Charles Sanders Peirce. The theory of reality construction views that reality is socially constructed, as well as reality and knowledge. Semiotics is a theory that gives signs where the signs have meaning, and the signs are then interpreted as manifestations in understanding life. The research methodology used is Charles Sanders Peirce's semiotic analysis method with a descriptive qualitative approach, namely looking at signs, object, and interpretant. From these signs will produce the meaning contained in the film. The results obtained from research on the film The Gangster, The Cop, The Devil are moral messages of police hard work that can be seen through signs such as scenes, and appearances in images from the film. The moral message of hard work contained in this film includes, earnest in doing work, trying to overcome obstacles to achieve goals, never giving up, trying to do something optimally, struggle, and the need for achievement / success. Keywords: Movies, Semiotics, Moral Message of Hard Work, The Gangster Movies, The Cop, The Devil. Film merupakan salah satu media massa yang paling populer saat ini. Alur cerita yang menarik dan efek suara yang bagus menjadi salah satu alasan penonton tidak merasa bosan dan tidak perlu berimajinasi seperti membaca buku. Film The Gangster, The Cop, The Devil merupakan film yang diangkat dari kisah nyata yaitu menceritakan tentang polisi dan gangster yang bekerja sama untuk mengungkap pembunuhan berantai di Korea Selatan. Adapun tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui dan menganalisis isi Pesan Moral Kerja Keras Polisi yang terdapat dalam film The Gangster, The Cop, The Devil. Penelitian ini menggunakan teori konstruksi realitas dengan konsep tentang kerja keras dan semiotika Charles Sanders Peirce. Teori konstruksi realitas memandang bahwa kenyataan dibangun secara sosial, serta kenyataan dan pengetahuan. Semiotika adalah sebuah teori yang memberikan tanda yang dimana tanda itu memiliki makna dan tanda-tanda tersebut kemudian dimaknai sebagai wujud dalam memahami kehidupan. Metodologi Penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode analisis semiotika Charles Sanders Peirce dengan pendekatan kualitatif deskriptif yaitu melihat tanda, objek, dan interpretant. Dari tanda-tanda ini akan menghasilkan makna yang terkandung dalam film tersebut. Hasil yang diperoleh dari penelitian atas film The Gangster, The Cop, The Devil adalah pesan moral kerja keras polisi yang dapat dilihat melalui tanda seperti scene/adegan maupun penampilan pada gambar dari film tersebut. Pesan moral kerja keras yang terdapat dari film ini diantaranya, bersungguh-sungguh dalam melakukan pekerjaan, berusaha melewati hambatan untuk mencapai tujuan, pantang menyerah, berusaha melakukan sesuatu secara maksimal, perjuangan dan kebutuhan pencapaian / keberhasilan.
