Abstract
The Special Region of Yogyakarta or called DIY is one of the autonomous regions at the state level in Indonesia. The capital of this country is Yogyakarta. Yogyakarta is one of the smallest provinces on the island of Java with an area of around 3,185.80 km2 and a geographic location at 8º 30′ – 7º 20′ south latitude, and 109º 40′ – 111º 0′ east longitude. With a population of around 4.5 million people, Yogyakarta is also the second city after Bali as the city with the most visited tourist attraction. Bearing the title of a tourism city, Yogyakarta illustrates the potential of the city in the tourism aspect. Many tourist objects have been developed in this area, both historical tourism, natural tourism, culture, education and various other tourist objects. Daerah Istimewa Yogyakarta atau biasa disebut DIY merupakan salah satu daerah otonom tingkat negara bagian di Indonesia. Ibukota negara ini adalah Yogyakarta. Yogyakarta merupakan salah satu provinsi terkecil yang berada di pulau Jawa dengan luas daerah sekitar 3.185,80 km2 dan letak geografis diposisi 8º 30′ – 7º 20′ Lintang Selatan, dan 109º 40′ – 111º 0′ Bujur Timur. Dengan populasi penduduk sekitar 4,5 juta orang, namun Yogyakarta juga merupakan kota kedua setelah bali sebagai kota dengan objek wisata yang paling sering dikunjungi. Menyandang predikat kota pariwisata, Yogyakarta menggambarkan adanya potensi pada kotanya dalam aspek kepariwisataan. Dari berbagai objek wisata sudah banyak dikembangkan di daerah ini, baik wisata sejarah, wisata alam, budaya, pendidikan dan berbagai objek wisata lainnya.
