Abstract

The cultural heritage building in the Ampel tourism support area has been established since 1918 and is still functioning today as the sub-district office and slaughterhouse and animal enclosures. However, the existence of a cultural heritage building which is intended as a slaughterhouse and animal pen makes the surrounding area disturbed due to an unpleasant odor. Moreover, this building is very close to the Ampel tourism bus terminal which is quite crowded. Eco-cultural architecture is one of six ideas from the concept of Sustainable Architecture put forward by (Guy & Farmer, 2001), namely: eco-technic, eco-centric, eco-aesthetic, eco-social, eco-medical, and eco-culture. The implementation of the eco-cultural concept in the ampel tourism supporting area takes the cultural context in the ampel area. The majority of the Ampel people are Arab, Javanese, and other regions. Therefore, the impression of Islam in the Ampel area is very strong. Such as the existence of the Ngabuburit culture in the Ampel area and also the Tabligh Akbar activities to commemorate major Islamic events, so there is a need for a place to be able to support activities or culture in the Ampel area. Keywords: Ampel Religious Tourism Support Area, Cultural Heritage Building, Eco-Cultural Architecture Bangunan cagar budaya di kawasan Penunjang wisata Ampel sudah berdiri sejak tahun 1918 dan masih difungsikan sampai sekarang sebagai kantor kelurahan dan Rumah pemotongan hewan dan kandang hewan. Akan tetapi adanya bangunan cagar budaya yang diperuntukan sebagai rumah pemotongan hewan dan kandang hewan membuat kawasan di sekitarnya menjadi terganggu karena bau yang kurang enak. Apalagi bangunan ini sangat dekat dengan terminal bis pariwisata Ampel yang cukup padat. Arsitektur Eco-cultural merupakan salah satu dari enam gagasan dari konsep Sustainable Architecture atau Arsitektur Berkelanjutan yang dikemukakan oleh (Guy & Farmer, 2001) yaitu: eco-technic, eco-centric, ecoaesthetic, eco-social, eco-medical, dan eco-culture. Implementasi konsep ecocultural pada kawasan penunjang wisata ampel mengambil konteks budaya di daerah kawasan ampel. Mayoritas masyarakat ampel merupakan suku arab, jawa, dan daerah lain. Oleh karena itu kesan agama islam di kawasan ampel sangat kuat. Seperti adanya budaya ngabuburit di kawasan ampel dan juga kegiatan tabligh akbar untuk memperingati acara acara besar islam sehingga perlu adanya tampat untuk bisa menunjang kegiatan atau kebudayaan di kawasan ampel.
