Abstract

This research is based on a phenomenon discovered by researchers at PT. X, namely the important role of leadership in ensuring companies are innovative and last long during a pandemic. Events that often occur in a system and management of human resources in several companies is how the employees themselves behave (Dewi & Made, 2015). One form of this behavior is turnover intention which refers to and ends in the employee's decision to leave his job and leads to the desire to move to another company. This study aims to see how individuals feel that there is a type of leadership that can direct companies to better actions and increase innovation and employee welfare during the Covid-19 pandemic. This type of research is a phenomenological qualitative research with data collection methodology through observation and interviews. The data collection technique was through purposive sampling by interviewing 4 (four) subjects, and 4 (four) SO regarding transformational leadership and innovation during the Covid19 pandemic. Data is processed using descriptive qualitative techniques that focus on leadership and innovation during the Covid-19 pandemic in the manufacturing industry at PT. X as a description of the situation encountered at the research location. The results showed that the leadership of PT. X in the Covid-19 era showed an influence on employee readiness to be renewed, because in leadership practice there are exemplary and influencing dimensions which are very dominant. This has an impact on employees who have very little trust in leadership management due to negligence and being unstable regarding the applicable company SO. Leadership trust is an important factor for increasing employee innovative behavior within a company or organization. Keyword: Transformational Leadership, Innovation. Penelitian ini didasari oleh fenomena yang ditemukan oleh peneliti pada PT. X yaitu peran penting kepemimpinan dalam memastikan perusahaan inovatif dan bertahan lama di masa pandemi. Peristiwa yang sering terjadi di dalam suatu sistem dan pengelolaan sumber daya manusia di beberapa perusahaan adalah bagaimana karyawan itu sendiri berperilaku (Dewi & Made, 2015). Salah satu bentuk perilaku tersebut yaitu turnover intention yang mengacu dan berujung pada keputusan karyawan untuk meninggalkan pekerjaannya dan berujung kepada keinginan berpindah ke perusahaan lain. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melihat bagaimana individu merasakan bahwa adanya tipe kepemimpinan yang dapat mengarahkan perusahaan pada tindakan yang lebih baik dan meningkatkan inovasi serta kesejahteraan karyawan di masa pandemi Covid-19. Jenis penelitian ini, merupakan penelitian kualitatif fenomenologi dengan metodologi pengumpulan data melalui observasi dan wawancara. Teknik pengumpulan data melalui purposive sampling dengan wawancara terhadap 4 (empat) subjek, dan 4 (empat) SO mengenai kepemimpinan transformasional dan inovasi di masa pandemi Covid-19. Data diolah dengan teknik kualitatif deskriptif yang berfokus pada kepemimpinan dan inovasi di masa pandemi Covid-19 pada industri manufaktur di PT. X sebagai gambaran situasi yang ditemui pada lokasi penelitian. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa kepemimpinan PT. X pada era Covid19 menunjukan pengaruh terhadap kesiapan karyawan untuk diperbarui, sebab dalam praktek kepemimpinan terdapat dimensi Intellectual Stimulation dan Intellectual Stimulation mempengaruhi yang sangat dominan. Pemimpin dengan gaya kepemimpinan transformasional membangun hubungan interpersonal antara atasan dan bawahan dalam meningkatkan inovasi, serta memahami keadaan mereka. Pemimpin yang transformasional juga akan menginspirasi dan menstimulasi bawahannya untuk dapat menukarkan baik ide-ide baru maupun pengetahuan. Kata kunci: Kepemimpinan Transformational, Inovasi.
