Abstract

Jogja Planning Gallery is a new space planned by the DIY Government in the Malioboro area. This building will become a new cultural center in the city of Yogyakarta, by combining an art gallery and an educational gallery. The goal is to introduce and promote the culture and history of Yogyakarta to the public and to tourists. In preparing the design of the Jogja Planning Gallery, material deepening was carried out through literature studies in the form of books, regulations and electronic media and observational studies by studying similar cases. All of these data are then evaluated and used as a reference to determine the basic concept in designing the Jogja Planning Gallery with a neo vernacular architectural approach. Adopting a neo vernacular architectural approach, it is hoped that the design of the Jogja Planning Gallery can represent the traditional architecture of Yogyakarta with a blend of modern architecture. Apart from that, it is also hoped that the Jogja Planning Gallery will become an interesting tourist and educational object in the city of Yogyakarta. Keyword: Jogja Planning Gallery, Yogyakarta, Neo Vernacular Architectural Jogja Planning Gallery merupakan ruang baru yang direncanakan oleh Pemerintah DIY di kawasan Malioboro. Bangunan ini akan menjadi pusat budaya baru di kota Yogyakarta, dengan menggabungkan galeri seni dan galeri edukatif. Tujuannya, untuk memperkenalkan dan mempromosikan budaya serta sejarah Yogyakarta ke masyarakat maupun ke wisatawan. Dalam penyusunan perancangan Jogja Planning Gallery, pendalaman materi dilakukan melalui studi literatur berupa buku, peraturan maupun media elektronik dan studi observasi dengan mempelajari kasus serupa. Semua data-data tersebut kemudian dievaluasi dan dijadikan acuan untuk menentukan konsep dasar dalam merancang Jogja Planning Gallery dengan pendekatan arsitektur neo vernakular. Mengusung pendekatan arsitektur neo vernakular, diharapkan perancangan Jogja Planning Gallery dapat merepresentasikan arsitektur tradisional Yogyakarta dengan perpaduan arsitektur modern. Selain itu, diharapkan juga Jogja Planning Gallery menjadi salah satu objek wisata dan edukasi yang menarik di Kota Yogyakarta.
