Abstract

Traditional Market is a place to buy and sell by maintaining local tradition, social and culture. Since the last 10 years at Godean Market, many housing, small or medium industries, and public facilities have arrived, making the surrounding traffic conditions congested every day, making roads more congested. Most people use private transportation, due to its strategic location in an urban agglomeration area and many visitors who come from the western Sleman region and the western part of Bantul district. The Godean market traders exceed the market area, so the market cannot accommodate the quantity of traders and also the places where traders sell are not well organized. To overcome the problems of the Godean market and aim to maintain the traditional values that result from tropical designs. The author provides architectural design solutions with the concept of Neo Vernacular, so that traditional architecture is not lost but is restored. Keywords: Traditional Godean Market, Contemporary Vernacular Architecture Approach Pasar Tradisional merupakan tempat jual beli dengan mempertahankan tradisi, sosial dan budaya daerah setempat. Pasar Godean sejak kurun waktu 10 tahun terakhir, banyak perumahan, industri kecil atau menengah, dan fasilitas umum berdatangan sehingga membuat kondisi lalulintas sekitar mulai padat ditiap harinya, sehingga membuat jalan menjadi lebih macet. Kebanyakan masyarakat menggunakan alat transportasi pibadi, dikarenakan letaknya yang strategis berada diwilayah aglomerasi perkotaan dan pengunjung yang datang banyak berasal dari wilayah Sleman barat dan kabupaten Bantul bagian barat. Pedagang pasar Godean melebihi dari area pasar, sehingga pasar tidak bisa menampung kuantitas pedagang dan juga tempat pedagang berjualan kurang tertata rapi. Untuk mengatasi permasalahan pasar Godean dan bertujuan untuk mempertahankan nilai tradisi yang dihasilkan dari desain tropis. Penulis memberikan solusi desain arsitektur dengan konsep Neo Vernakular, sehingga arsitektur tradisional tidak hilang akan tetapi dipulihkan kembali Kata Kunci: Pasar Tradisional Godean, Pendekatan Arsitektur Vernakular Kontemporer.
