Abstract
PT. XYZ is a company engaged in automobile manufacturing located in the Sunter Industrial area, North Jakarta. PT. XYZ is a branch of the XYZ Corporation company based in Japan and includes values / concepts from Japan. One part which is under the auspices of the Dies & Jig Manufacturing Division division, namely, the polymodel section is the part that manages the prototype dies made from sterofoam blocks which will then be casting. At the beginning of the manufacturing process, human labor must replace the sterofoam block which has an average weight of> 40 kg from the store material next to a cutting machine that is 7.3 meters high for 51 seconds by pushing and lifting itself. The purpose of this study is to refine the facility layout in the polymodel to reduce the distance of material handling between workstations. While designing facility layout for polymodel parts using the Systematic Layout Planning method. Based on the merging and processing of data, the initial layout of the polymodel section has a total distance between workstations of 71,029 meters with a total negotiation time between workstations is 155.5 seconds while for alternative layouts the result is a total distance between workstations is 55.94 meters with a total time between the workstation is 103.8 seconds. After determining the alternative layout, OMH calculations need to be done to find out which layout is the best based on material handling costs. XYZ adalah perusahaan yang bergerak di bidang manufakturing mobil yang terletak di kawasan Industri Sunter, Jakarta Utara. PT. XYZ merupakan cabang perusahaan XYZ Corporation yang berpusat di Jepang dan mengadopsi nilai/konsep dari Jepang. Salah satu section yang berada di bawah naungan divisi Dies & Jig Manufacturing Division yaitu, polymodel section merupakan section yang memanufakturing prototipe dies yang terbuat dari blok sterofoam yang kemudian akan di-casting. Pada awal proses manufakturing, man power harus memindahkan blok sterofoam yang memiliki berat rata-rata >40 kg dari store material ke sebelah mesin cutting yang sejauh 7,3 meter selama 51 detik dengan cara didorong dan diangkat seorang diri. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah merancang ulang tata letak fasilitas pada polymodel section untuk mengurangi jarak material handling antar workstation. Adapun perancangan tata letak fasilitas untuk polymodel section menggunakan metode Systematic Layout Planning. Berdasarkan pengumpulan dan pengolahan data, layout awal polymodel section memiliki jarak total antar workstations sebesar 71,029 meter dengan total waktu perpindahan antar workstations adalah 155,5 detik sedangkan untuk layout alternatif didapatkan hasil jarak total antar workstations adalah 55,94 meter dengan total waktu perpindahan antar workstations adalah 103,8 detik. Setelah merancang layout alternatif, perlu penghitungan OMH dilakukan untuk mengetahui layout mana kah yang terbaik berdasarkan biaya material handling.
