Abstract

Indonesia is a country rich in biodiversity, with an estimated 300,000 wild animals or about 17% of the world's animals. But with the times and the destructive attitude of humans, some animals are threatened with extinction. The Indonesian government itself has made several efforts to prevent extinction by enacting Law No. 5 of 1990, in addition to these efforts the need for a conservation area for the sake of animal sustainability. With the presence of the Jakarta Zoological Museum, it is hoped that it will make it easier for the public and students to obtain education about animals, for research purposes, increase knowledge for the sake of animal sustainability, and can increase museum tourism in Jakarta. Considering that this museum has a national standard that presents a collection of animals, this museum building will use an analogous architectural approach so that it can directly describe the collections on display and attract visitors' interest. The shape of the building takes a form that comes from nature and the habitat of animals, building materials use natural elements, and the room is designed attractively by utilizing elements from the original habitat of the animals on display so that each room has a different concept and can provide an atmosphere. like blending with the animals on display. Indonesia merupakan negara yang kaya akan keanekaragaman hayatinya, dengan diperkirakan terdapat 300.000 satwa liar atau sekitar 17% dari satwa yang terdapat di dunia. Tetapi dengan perkembangan zaman dan sikap destructive manusia menyebabkan beberapa hewan terancam punah. Pemerintah Indonesia sendiri telah melakukan beberapa usaha untuk mencegah kepunahan dengan menetapkan Undang-undang No.5 Tahun 1990, selain dengan upaya tersebut diperlukannya juga sebuah tempat konservasi terhadap demi keberlanjutan satwa. Dengan kehadiran Museum Zoologi Jakarta diharapkan dapat mempermudah masyarakat dan pelajar untuk memperoleh edukasi tentang satwa, sebagai kepentingan penelitian, menambah ilmu pengetahuan demi keberlanjutan satwa, dan dapat meningkatkan wisata museum di Jakarta. Dengan mempertimbangkan museum ini bertarafkan nasional yang menyajikan koleksi berupa satwa, maka bangunan museum ini akan menggunakan pendekatan arsitektur analogi sehingga dapat menggambarkan secara langsung tentang koleksi yang dipamerkan dan menarik minat pengunjung. Bentuk bangunan mengambil bentuk yang berasal dari alam dan habitat dari hewan, material bangunan menggunakan unsur – unsur alam, dan ruangan di desain dengan atraktif memanfaatkan unsur – unsur dari habitat asli hewan yang dipamerkan sehingga setiap ruangan memiliki konsep yang berbeda - beda dan dapat memberikan suasana seperti menyatu dengan hewan yang dipamerkan.
