Abstract

Natural disaster happens around us in our daily life, but lot of them whose age around 17 – 27 y.o. deceased because of this occurence. This is a bit regretable since those life span is at their prime for living their life. Aside their fate for them to fell as victim, another reason can be deducted that they didn’t have enough knowledge about Disaster Response education. With a more proper education of Disaster Response for those young adult, victims caused by natural disaster can be reduced. One of the medium that can be used to teach Disaster Response education is through digital games. Digital game is a game that created for digital devices. After a bit of research, it is known that these “natural disaster”-themed games had visuals that is unappealing for them categorized on IGRS’s 13+ age, especially for young adults. Because of that, it is needed for someone to create an education games with visuals that is appealing for them so disaster response education can be brought through. Game’s development is done through Unity’s free engine. Visual and game mechanism is designed as so the game had visuals and mechanism that can attract target audiences. Although the feedback that submitted is varying, the final conclusion can be put as that the game has reach it’s main goal, namely presented visuals and mechanism that attracted a lot of viewers to try and play the game if one day the full game released. Keyword: game, education, disaster response. Bencana alam masih banyak terjadi di sekitar kita, namun mereka yang berumur 15 – 27 tahun masih banyak menjadi korban jiwa. Hal ini cukup mengagetkan sebab rentang umur tersebut masih dapat dikatakan umur yang prima dalam melakukan segala hal. Diluar sangkut pautnya dengan takdir atas akibat meninggalnya korban jiwa, tentu saja salah satunya karena kurangnya edukasi mengenai tanggap bencana bagi mereka. Dengan adanya edukasi tanggap bencana yang lebih baik, tentu saja jumlah korban jiwa akan berkurang. Salah satu media untuk penyaluran edukasi tanggap bencana adalah game edukasi digital. Game edukasi digital merupakan permainan yang diciptakan untuk perangkat digital. Namun, setelah melalui riset singkat mengenai game edukasi digital untuk tanggap bencana yang saat ini telah beredar di masyarakat, didapat bahwa visual yang dimiliki oleh game – game tersebut tidaklah menarik minat dari umur yang masuk kategori 13+ milik IGRS terutama umur dewasa mula. Oleh karena dibutuhkan game edukasi digital untuk tanggap bencana yang memiliki visual yang diinginkan oleh target audiens sehingga edukasi tanggap bencana dapat disalurkan. Perancangan game dibuat menggunakan engine Unity yang bersifat gratis. Visual dan mekanisme di rancang sedemikian rupa sehingga game memiliki visual serta mekanisme game yang dapat menarik target audiens. Walaupun hasil feedback beragam, tetapi kesimpulan akhir dari seluruh feedback menunjukkan bahwa tujuan perancangan game telah tercapai, baik dari segi visual maupun mekanisme gamenya sehingga mereka yang telah melihat game ini ingin memainkan gamenya jika suatu saat dirilis. Kata Kunci: permainan, edukasi, tanggap bencana.
