Abstract
Youtube is one of the most popular social media in Indonesia. The presence of Youtube currently raises many content creators or Youtubers in Indonesia, one of which is Jerome Polin. Jerome Polin Sijabat is a Youtuber from Indonesia who is currently studying in Japan. Jerome Polin has a YouTube channel called Nihongo Mantappu. Through his Youtube channel, Jerome always presents positive and educational content so that many young people like Jerome Polin. In this study, the researcher wanted to figure out whether there was a relationship between Jerome Polin's credibility and the gratifications of watching Youtube Nihongo Mantappu's channel and how profound the relationship was. This research uses source credibility theory and theory uses and gratifications. The results of this study aim to determine how profound the relationship between the credibility of Youtuber Jerome Polin and the satisfaction of watching Youtube Nihongo Mantappu's Channel. The research method used is quantitative explanatory based on the Positivism approach. The population in this study are followers of fanbase account, Jerome Polin's Instagram namely @mantappu.squad. The sample in this study was 100 respondents as followers of fanbase account Instagram Jerome Polin @mantappu.squad aged 17 -25 years, knowing Jerome Polin as a YouTuber, watching Nihongo Mantappu’s Youtube channel and subscribing Nihongo Mantappu channel content. The sampling technique used was non-probability, namely purposive sampling with criteria determined by the author. The minimum number of samples in this study uses the Yamane Formula with a precision of 10%. The technique of collecting data is a questionnaire through google form. This study uses quantitative data analysis. The conclusion of this study is that there is a strong and positive correlation between the credibility variable and the satisfaction of watching variable. The magnitude of the relationship is 0.647. In addition, the results of the hypothesis testing that have been carried out show that H0 is rejected and Ha is accepted, meaning that there is a relationship between the credibility of Youtuber Jerome Polin and the satisfaction of watching the Youtube Nihongo Mantappu channel. Youtube merupakan salah satu platform media sosial yang populer Indonesia. kehadiran Youtube saat ini banyak memunculkan content creator atau Youtuber di Indonesia salah satunya adalah Jerome Polin. Jerome Polin Sijabat merupakan seorang Youtuber asal Indonesia yang saat ini sedang menempuh pendidikan di Jepang. Jerome Polin memiliki akun Youtube channel yang bernama Nihongo Mantappu. Melalui Youtube channelnya, Jerome selalu menyajikan konten yang positif dan bersifat edukasi sehingga banyak sekali dari kalangan muda yang menggemari Jerome Polin. Pada penelitian ini, peneliti ingin mengetahui apakah terdapat hubungan kredibilitas Youtuber Jerome Polin dengan kepuasan menonton Youtube channel Nihongo Mantappu dan seberapa besar hubungan tersebut. Penelitian ini menggunakan teori kredibilitas sumber dan teori uses and gratifications. Hasil dari penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui seberapa besar hubungan antara kredibilitas Youtuber Jerome Polin dengan kepuasan menonton Youtube Channel Nihongo Mantappu. Metode penelitian yang digunakan yaitu kuantitatif eksplanatif berdasarkan pendekatan Positivisme. Populasi pada penelitian ini adalah pengikut fanbase account Instagram Jerome Polin yaitu @mantappu.squad. Sampel dalam penelitian ini adalah 100 responden sebagai pengikut fanbase account Instagram Jerome Polin @mantappu.squad yang berusia 17 -25 tahun, mengetahui Jerome Polin sebagai Youtuber, menonton konten channel Nihongo Mantappu dan subscribe konten channel Nihongo Mantappu. Teknik penarikan sampel menggunakan non probabality yaitu purposive sampling dengan kriteria yang telah ditentukan oleh penulis. Jumlah sampel minimal dalam penelitian ini menggunakan Rumus Yamane dengan presisi 10%. Teknik pengumpulan data kuesioner atau questionnaire atau angket melalui google form. Penelitian ini menggunakan analisis data kuantitatif. Kesimpulan hasil penelitian ini adalah terdapat korelasi yang kuat dan positif antara variabel kredibilitas terhadap variabel kepuasan menonton. Besarnya hubungan tersebut adalah 0,647. Selain itu, hasil uji hipotesis yang telah dilakukan menunjukan bahwa H0 ditolak dan Ha diterima, artinya terdapat hubungan antara kredibilitas Youtuber Jerome Polin dengan kepuasan menonton Youtube channel Nihongo Mantappu.
