Film memiliki beberapa jenis, yaitu film dokumenter, film pendek, film panjang, film yang digunakan untuk mempromosikan suatu perusahaan, iklan televisi, program televisi dan video klip.Film Drama sendiri adalah ragam film yang sebagian besar tergantung pada pengembangan mendalam karakter realistis yang berurusan dengan tema emosional. Film drama adalah media komunikasi yang bersifat audio visual untuk menyampaikan suatu pesan kepada sekelompok orang yang berkumpul di suatu tempat tertentu. Pesan film pada komunikasi massa dapat berbentuk apa saja tergantung dari misi film tersebut. Akan tetapi, umumnya sebuah film dapat mencakup berbagai pesan, baik itu pesan pendidikan, hiburan dan informasi. Pesan dalam film adalah menggunakan mekanisme lambang – lambang yang ada pada pikiran manusia berupa isi pesan, suara, perkataan, percakapan dan sebagainya. Dalam Film Drama “Wangsul” yang bertemakan mengenai seorang anak yang berbakti kepada orang tuanya terutama seorang Ayah serta berlatar belakang tentang kehidupan sehari-hari. Film ini bertujuan untuk memberikan contoh kepada Masyarakat tentang pengorbanan seorang anak yang sangat berbakti kepada Ayahnya sehingga tidak mementingkan masa depannya yang menginginkan menjadi seorang Fotografer. Kesimpulan dalam Editing Drama Wangsul adalah penggunaan aplikasi editing Vegas Pro untuk mempermudah proses dalam melakukan editing, serta bagaimana penulis membuat hasil gambar yang digabungkan hingga sesuai dari yang diinginkan oleh Sutradara dan dapat di tonton oleh Masyarakat. Kata Kunci : Film Drama, Komunikasi Massa, Editing several types, namely documentary films, short films, feature films, films used to promote a company, television commercials, television programs and video clips. Film Drama itself is a variety of films which largely depend on the in-depth development of realistic characters that deal with emotional theme. Drama film is an audio visual communication media to convey a message to a group of people who gather in a certain place. The message of the film in mass communication can be anything depending on the mission of the film. However, generally a film can include a variety of messages, be they messages of education, entertainment and information. The message in the film is to use the mechanism of symbols that exist in the human mind in the form of message content, sound, speech, conversation and so on. In the Drama Film "Wangsul" with the theme of a child who is devoted to his parents, especially a father and has a background about daily life. This film aims to give an example to the public about the sacrifice of a child who is so devoted to his father that he does not care about his future who wants to become a photographer. The conclusion in Drama Wangsul Editing is the use of the Vegas Pro editing application to facilitate the process of editing, and how the author makes the results of the images combined to match what is desired by the Director and can be watched by the public.
