Abstract
This study aims to obtain tested findings about the effect of (1) the formal communication intensity of the department head on employee productivity, (2) the informal communication intensity of the department head on the productivity of the employee, (3) the intensity of formal and informal communication of the department head towards the work productivity. Where the theory of Human Relations became a reference theory in this study. The sample in this study amounted to 273 respondents and they are employees of the production of shoe factory PT.X. The sampling technique using simple random sampling. Data collection using direct survey method with questionnaire instrument. For further analysis using Multiple Linear regression analysis technique to know the influence of each variable. The result of the research indicates that the Intensity of Formal Communications has positive influence (tc 9.696> 1.970) and significant (sig. 0.00 <0.05) on Work Productivity Employee. And inversely with Informal Communications that have no effect (thitung -0.643 <1.970 and sig. 0.521> 0.05) on Employee Productivity. Keywords: Formal Communication, Informal Communication, Employee Productivity, Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memperoleh temuan yang teruji tentang pengaruh (1) Intensitas komunikasi formal departement head terhadap produktivitas kerja team member, (2) Intensitas komunikasi informal departement head terhadap produktivitas kerja team member, (3) Intensitas komunikasi formal dan informal departement head terhadap produktivitas kerja team member. Dimana teori Human Relation menjadi acuan teori pada penelitian ini. Sampel dalam penelitian ini berjumlah 273 responden dan mereka adalah karyawan bagian produksi pabrik sepatu PT.X. Adapun teknik pengambilan sampel menggunakan simple random sampling. Pengumpulan data menggunakan metode survei langsung dengan instrumen kuisioner. Untuk selanjutnya dianalisis menggunakan teknik analisis Regresi Linier Berganda untuk mengetahui pengaruh dari masing-masing variabel. Hasil penelitian menujukan bahwa Intensitas Komunikasi Formal berpengaruh positif (thitung 9.696>1.970) dan signifikan (sig. 0.00<0.05) terhadap Produktivitas Kerja Karyawan. Dan berbanding terbalik dengan Komunikasi Informal yang tidak berpengaruh (thitung -0.643<1.970 dan sig. 0.521>0.05) terhadap Produktivitas Kerja Karyawan.
