Abstract

Air pressure will decrease with increasing altitude and according to regulations from the Federation Aviation Administration of United State (FAA) humans can only breathe normally and there is no interference up to 8,000 feet. In today's commercial aircraft, it can fly up to a height of 41,000 feet like a Boeing 737-800 with a flight altitude 25,000 up to 41,000 feet. This aircraft has a system that can keep the air pressure in the cabin altitude below 8,000 feet. During cruising normally the air pressure inside the cabin must be stable (no change), this is controlled by an out flow valve. All aircraft cabins cannot be tightly closed, there is a constant flow of air coming out of the cabin through slots, doors, and window assemblies and other leak points, it is much easier to supply more air than is needed and maintain cabin pressure. This function is regulated by a flow control and shut off valve (FCSOV) on the air conditioning pack system. If there is a large leak there will be a decrease in internal cabin air pressure, FCSOV will supply air into the cabin 4 psi higher than cabin pressure so that cabin pressure can be maintained according to the cabin altitude schedule, so that the cabin rate of climb indicator will increase. Aircraft with registration PK-GNA experienced cabin rate of climb fluctuations 15 times from January to June, 2018 by mean of fluctuation 300 feet/minute up and down caused cabin differential pressure fluctuate 7,8 psid ±0,1. Various troubleshooting have been performed, and endly it caused by dent of Scuff plate of aft cargo door exceeds the limitation. Keywords: Aircraft, Cabin Altitude, FCSOV, Fluctuate, Scuff Plate Tekanan udara akan semakin berkurang seiring dengan kenaikan ketinggian dan sesuai regulasi dari Federasi Penerbangan Internasional Amerika (FAA) manusia hanya dapat bernafas secara normal dan tidak ada gangguan hingga ketinggian 8.000 kaki. Pada pesawat komersial sekarang ini, dapat terbang hingga ketinggian 41.000 kaki seperti pesawat Boeing 737-800 dengan ketinggian terbang 25.000 s/d 41.000 kaki. Pesawat ini memiliki sistem yang dapat menjaga tekanan udara dalam kabin di bawah 8.000 kaki. Pada saat cruising (jelajah) normalnya tekanan udara di dalam kabin harus stabil (tidak ada perubahan), hal ini di kontrol oleh out flow valve. Seluruh area kabin pesawat terbang pasti tidak dapat tertutup rapat, ada aliran konstan udara keluar dari kabin melalui celah, pintu, dan jendela dan titik kebocoran lainnya, jauh lebih mudah untuk memompa lebih banyak udara daripada yang diperlukan dan mempertahankan tekanan kabin. Fungsi tersebut diatur oleh flow control and shut off valve (FCSOV) pada sistem air conditioning pack. Jika terjadi kebocoran yang besar maka akan terjadi penurunan tekanan udara dalam kabin, FCSOV akan supplai udara ke dalam kabin 4 psi lebih tinggi daripada tekanan kabin agar tekanan kabin dapat di maintain sesuai cabin altitude schedule, sehingga penunjukkan pada cabin rate of climb indicator akan naik. Pesawat dengan registrasi PK-GNA mengalami kasus fluktuasi cabin rate of climb sebanyak 15 kali mulai periode Januari s/d Juni 2018 dengan rata-rata fluktuasi 300 feet/minute up dan down yang menyebabkan differential pressure pada kabin berfluktuasi 7,8 psid ± 0,1. Telah dilakukan berbagai perbaikan, dan yang menjadi penyebab adalah Scuff plate kargo belakang dent melebihi limitasi. Kata kunci: Pesawat, Cabin Altitude, FCSOV, Fluktuasi, Scuff Plate
