Abstract

In the situation of increasingly fierce and competitive competition, the problem of the quality of a product becomes an issue for the company. The company's ability to provide quality products will be a weapon to win the competition and make the brand a leader in its market and customer satisfaction will be achieved. Therefore, this condition requires companies to process their resources effectively and efficiently. This study aims to analyze product quality problems to produce products that comply with standards and reduce the number of defective products. Therefore, this study uses a qualitative approach with the DMAIC method to analyze the causes of defective products and improve the quality of the products produced. The results of this study are to identify and define problems that exist and that cause defective products, then measure CTQ (critical to quality) and DPMO, after that analyze the causes of defective products with fish bone diagrams and make repairs using the 5W + 1H method (When, Why, Who, Where, What and How) and the results of this study are a proposal to use a check sheet for documentation of quality control, changes or updates the SOP.
