Abstract

To have an effective communication, every human being must have interaction with other individuals and the surrounding which cannot be separated from someone’s activity. In making an interaction, an individual gives information to other about themselves. This is connected to the existence of self-identity on each individual. Subjective Dimension of each identity is a personal feeling of each human being. In other words, identity of each individual has values which can be learned by others and also can be acquired by that individual. The purpose of this research is to know lifestyle, behaviour, reasons become fans and process of the self-identity. The theory used in this research is communication theory about identity, the first degree or the personal layer and Kenneth Burke’s dramatism theory. Kenneth Burke’s dramatism theory is a theory that tried to understand human being life action as a drama. This research used a paradigm of constructivism with descriptive qualitative method using Alfred Schutz’s phenomenology theory. The research’s outcome obtained by researcher through interviews and observations, was that these six key informants were consciously telling about their life experiences of becoming to the fans of JKT48. The Explanations about themselves either from the aspect of lifestyle, behavior and activity they had been done while becoming the fans of JKT48 despite having such different backgrounds. They showed their self-identities as the fans of JKT48 either openly or furtively. Besides, they also showed that they were the millennial generation or a generation in which the technology would become the major asset for their life. Anything they had been working on, they had done were a drama in their life. Becoming the fans of JKT48 was an activity in which they constructed a life covered with the drama. Dalam menjalin sebuah komunikasi yang efektif, setiap manusia harus saling menjalin interaksi dengan individu lain dan lingkungan sekitar yang tidak pernah lepas dari segala macam aktivitas kehidupan seseorang. Dalam menjalin sebuah interaksi, seorang individu melakukan penyampaian informasi kepada orang lain mengenai dirinya. Hal ini lalu berhubungan dengan adanya identitas diri pada setiap individu. Dimensi subjektivitas (Subjective Dimension) akan setiap identitas merupakan sebuah perasaan diri pribadi dari setiap manusia. Dengan kata lain, identitas dari masing-masing individu tersebut memiliki hal-hal yang dapat dipelajari oleh orang lain dan juga bisa didapatkan oleh individu tersebut. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui gaya hidup, perilaku, alasan menjadi fans dan proses identitas diri tersebut. Teori yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini mengenai teori komunikasi tentang identitas, tingkatan pertama atau personal layer dan teori dramatisme Kenneth Burke. Teori dramatisme Kenneth Burke merupakan teori yang berusaha untuk memahami tindakan kehidupan manusia sebagai drama. Penelitian ini menggunakan paradigma konstruktivis dengan metode deskriptif kualitatif menggunakan teori fenomenologi dari Alfred Schutz. Hasil penelitian yang didapat oleh peneliti melalui wawancara dan observasi, keenam key informan ini secara sadar menceritakan pengalaman kehidupan mereka menjadi fans JKT48. Penjelasan mengenai diri mereka baik dari segi gaya hidup, perilaku serta kegiatan yang mereka lakukan selama menjadi fans JKT48 walaupun dengan latar belakang yang berbeda-beda. Mereka secara terbuka maupun secara tersembunyi dalam menampilkan identitas diri mereka adalah fans JKT48. Selain itu mereka juga menunjukkan bahwa mereka adalah generasi millennial atau generasi dimana teknologi menjadi modal utama untuk kehidupan mereka. Apapun yang mereka kerjakan, yang mereka lakukan merupakan sebuah drama dikehidupan mereka. Menjadi fans JKT48 adalah kegiatan dimana mereka mengkonstruksikan sebuah kehidupan yang dibalut dengan drama.
