Abstract

The success of a company is reflected in the ability of management to take advantage of opportunities optimally so as to generate sales and profits as expected. Sales forecasting will provide a useful overview of the prospects for product demand in the market and good new product development strategies. But in the process the company has not implemented an effective quantitative forecasting method to help forecast sales data in the future. After conducting sales forecasting planning using the Single Exponential Smoothing method with a magnitude of α = 0.9, the results of MAPE calculations for Vitacimin Nutriglow @ 30 and Vitacimin White @ 30 products are 9.8% and 15% respectively. This number is smaller when compared to Single Exponential Smoothing with the amount of α = 0.1 and 0.5 and compared with the Double Exponential method with the theories of Holt and Brown. But there needs to be support from every division that exists in the company, so that sales forecasting can get the expected results. Keywords: Sales Forecasting, Single Exponential Smoothing, Double Exponential Smoothing, MAD, MAPE. Keberhasilan suatu perusahaan dicerminkan oleh kemampuan manajemen untuk memanfaatkan peluang secara optimal sehingga dapat menghasilkan penjualan dan laba sesuai dengan yang diharapkan. Peramalan penjualan akan memberikan gambaran berguna tentang prospek permintaan produk di pasar dan strategi pengembangan produk baru dengan baik. Namun pada prosesnya perusahaan belum menerapkan suatu metode peramalan kuantitatif yang efektif untuk membantu meramalkan data penjualan di masa depan Setelah melakukan perencanaan peramalan penjualan dengan metode Single Exponential Smoothing dengan besaran α= 0.9 memberikan hasil perhitungan MAPE untuk produk Vitacimin Nutriglow @30 dan Vitacimin White @30 dengan masing-masing adalah 9.8% dan 15%. Jumlah ini lebih kecil jika dibandingkan dengan Single Exponential Smoothing dengan besaran α= 0.1 dan 0.5 dan dibandingkan dengan metode Double Exponnetial dengan teori dari Holt dan Brown. Namun perlu adanya dukungan dari setiap divisi yang ada pada perusahaan , agar peramalan penjualan yang dilakukan mendapatkan hasil yang diharapkan.
