Abstract
The pandemic situation that colonizes the world, the demands of stakeholders, and the sophistication of technology force the organization's communication system to change instantaneously so that it can maintain its quality and existence. Changes in the communication system in educational institutions now begin with distance learning. Saint John's Catholic School Elementary Department also conducts HLP (Home Learning Program). Schools that carry the importance of character education from early childhood to secondary education, continue to maintain and implement constructivist character education through virtual classes. A communication system is a complex arrangement or a single unit that includes related elements and influences each other. A system has 4 related elements according to Littlejohn, namely objects (part of a system), attributes, internal relationships between organizational members, and the environment (Foss, 2009). Tulus Tambunan, to increase competitive advantage/competitiveness, organizations need to have several elements to produce their own uniqueness that is difficult for competitors to imitate. Presidential Regulation No. 87 of 2017 concerning Strengthening Character Education, which is embodied by the Ministry of Education and Culture as the Pancasila Student Profile. The purpose of this study was to find a pattern of character education communication systems in order to strengthen competitiveness. The constructivist paradigm is a systematic analysis of socially meaningful action through direct and detailed observation of social behavior in natural daily settings, using the case study method. Through active observation and interviews, researchers collect data to get results. The result of the research is that Saint John's Catholic School Elementary Department, although it has held a Home Learning Program for 10 months, still prioritizes the importance of internalizing character education for students. The managerial function communication system utilizes digital technology, with open and collaborative communication between all stakeholders in internalizing character values. This open and collaborative communication system has become the breath of all stakeholders' lives and is the excellence of this school. Keywords: case study; collaborative, integrated, and open communication systems; character building; excellence. teknologi memaksa sistem komunikasi organisasi berubah secara instan untuk tetap dapat mempertahankan mutu dan eksistensinya. Perubahan sistem komunikasi pada lembaga pendidikan saat ini dimulai dengan pembelajaran jarak jauh (distance learning). SD Saint John’s Catholic School yang juga melakukan HLP (Home Learning Program). Sekolah yang mengusung pentingnya pendidikan karakter sejak usia PAUD hingga pendidikan menengah, tetap mempertahankan dan melaksanakan pendidikan karakter yang konstruktivis melalui kelas virtual. Sistem komunikasi adalah susunan kompleks atau satu-kesatuan yang meliputi elemen- elemen terkait dan saling mempengaruhi. Suatu sistem memiliki 4 elemen terkait menurut Littlejohn yaitu objek-objek (bagian dari suatu sistem), atribut, hubungan internal antar anggota organisasi, dan lingkungan (Foss, 2009). Tulus Tambunan, untuk meningkatkan keunggulan kompetitif/daya saing, organisasi perlu memiliki beberapa elemen sehingga menghasilkan keunikan tersendiri yang sulit ditiru oleh kompetitor. Peraturan Presiden No. 87 Tahun 2017 tentang Penguatan Pendidikan Karakter, yang diejawantahkan oleh Kemendikbud dengan sebutan Profil Pelajar Pancasila. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk menemukan pola sistem komunikasi pendidikan karakter guna memperkuat daya saing. Paradigma konstruktivis sebagai analisis sistematis terhadap socially meaningful action melalui pengamatan langsung dan rinci terhadap perilaku sosial dalam setting keseharian yang alamiah, dengan metode studi kasus. Melalui observasi aktif dan wawancara, , peneliti mengumpulkan data sehingga mendapatkan hasil. Hasil penelitian adalah SD Saint John’s Catholic School meskipun telah mengadakan Home Learning Program selama 10 bulan tetap menomorsatukan pentingnya internalisasi pendidikan karakter bagi para siswa. Sistem komunikasi managerial function memanfaatkan teknologi digital, dengan komunikasi terbuka dan kolaboratif antar seluruh stakeholder dalam internalisasi nilai-nilai karakter. Sistem komunikasi terbuka dan berkolaborasi telah menjadi nafas kehidupan seluruh stakeholder serta merupakan keunggulan sekolah ini .
